It's an honest question

Out of the 6M in Quebec.... 2M would be just fine, another 1M would get the gist of it but with great difficulty... the other remaining 3M would be TOTALLY lost and would require at the very least French subtitles to be able to follow.

This thread is heading to a political debat that many have no clue what it is about and that has done the run around more than once in the last few years. I think we pretty much answered the OP about the issue.

BUT I just want to clarify one thing. English speaking folks aren't limited to Downtown and the West Island of Montreal. South and North Shore of the island have a lot of English speaking people (especially the south shore).

I noticed this similiar issue with dvds years ago, but it never bothered me enough not to buy.
But a US movie released in whatever country should be entitled to the native language on the case as they are the primary consumer

I'm not from Montral and i think my english is decent. To wrap this up i want to thank Disney Fox and Sony for including french soundtrack on almost all of their bds, thus showing RESPECT to people who spend their hard earned money on their products.

Canal+ sur Blu-Ray ca viens ou quoi? Alors?

P.S. Un "hack" sera probablement disponible un jour mais Sony n'aura jamais un "firmware" officiel "region free"

What I was getting at with this thread and I should not that I should have worded it better was this:

A single language used on the case of any given movie case looks neater and cleaner than having the same thing written on it twice. I mean there are Japanese people and German people that live in Canada as well but it doesn't seem necessary to have those languages all over the cases as well.

I live in Saskatchewan and I don't know a single person that speaks French personally. My guess is that once you get going west past Ontario there aren't a shit load of people that could speak a single sentence of French. Why have it all over the movie case? That minoroty that can speak French should just learn to speak English and then it makes stuff easier.

I wasn't actually trying to imply that French was shit. But it is still pig-latin to me.
