I've used my credit card with no problems at www.amazon.co.uk . It usually takes around 5-7 days to reach me once the item is shhipped.

Well when I looked it up it says that the format is PAL. So I'm guessing it's not region free right?

The Hi-Def formats don't utilize PAL or NTSC or whatever anymore -- it's all about the region-coding. It's kind of misleading on Amazon's part, but they don't do a very good job with that kind of information on their site.

All (I think) of the Warner releases up to this point have been region free and will play in any player worldwide.

Sweeney Todd should be the same.

Thanks I didn't know that. Well I think I might wait until there's a confirmation that it's region free before pre-ordering. It would be my first import and I don't want to take any chances.

I'm in that boat, too. So no worries. I'm going to wait as well. Beowulf comes out this week and I'm waiting on confirmation for that one too. As soon as I get it though, "Click to Order".

The only thing to watchout for with UK Blu-Ray discs are even if the film is region free, any extra's that are in standard def are going to be in the pal format.

Blu-ray doesn't use the PAL System - not even for Extras.

The 2nd disc could be standard def only and have region code 0, so it would not be a Blu-Ray disc -which would then mean it would be Pal or NTSC.

MAYBE.. but extremely highly unlikely. It physically would'nt be a Blu-ray whatsoever and just a normal DVD in which case. For a company to produce a 2nd disk for a blu-ray release just for SD content is unheard of, especially when they can just stick it on a BD 50 with the rest of the films content. I've got U.S imported films here at home that have SD extras and even they are still encoded fully the same as the HD signal is for playback. You really won't have any problems with them.
