Bad idea I think. Only for the desperate. Personally I don't think blu-ray needs any sort of help like this since it will soon be passing HD-DVD's total collection. That's a good thing right there aside from HD-DVD's head start on blu-ray. But hey it's a free world.

Default The Universal BD Support Petition thread

I have started a petition for Universal Studios to support Blu-ray and release their films on the Blu-ray format. I think this will help the consumer as then Blu-ray will be supported by all major studios, most of which are exclusive. It just seems a lot more logical to have Universal go neutral, then trying to get the 5 BD studios to go neutral. To me this is the best thing for the consumer, get this format war over with as quickly as possible.

To sign the petition, click on the following link:

You only need to post it one spot. I have merged them together.

I agree.

This petition is ********. In fact, internet petitions ARE ******** (even if we think we can gain hope from it).

This is almost as ******* ******** as the one that "rdjam" put over at AVS.

If you want to tell Universal to switch, then try voting with your wallet.

Save some money, go buy Blu-ray titles from supporting studios, buy players (like the PS3), write reviews (to public sites and whatnot), tell your friends/family/relatives to go with Blu-ray (the true successor to DVD) and lastly, e-mail Universal to support Blu-ray.

Those are the best ways to get their support. And not through a ******* online petition.

This petition won't work at all.

I would either let Universal realize its mistake on its own or I would support Blu-ray titles by purchasing them to raise awareness.

Online petitions (all of them) do not work and this one right here won't work.

It's an utter waste of time but that's just me though.

Well, I just checked Beatboys77 petition (because I wanted to sign it) but as of now it looks like a huge joke: there are many bogus signatures like'Blu-ray=more expansive than HD-DVD', 'void line', 'Blu-ray sucks' etc. There must be some other way to do this, where you have to submit a valid email to sign up, so you can only do it once? I'm aware that it would be easy to create a freemail account to do this, but it would at least hold off some of the bogus signatures.
