Default Bought my 46' Samsung from NewEgg

Purchased on a Wednesday, it arrived the following Monday. 1 Guy showed up with it in the back of his delivery van and I helped him carry it in. I couldn't be more pleased with it. No tax, no shipping and handling, and $500 cheaper than Best Buy.

Partially correct. You will be charged sales tax if either (a) the company has a physical presence in your state, or is licensed to do business in your state, or (b) if the product being delivered originates from, and is delivered to, your state.

The reason why NewEgg started charging tax in TN is because they drop ship directly from Ingram, one of the nation's largest warehouse distributors (Ingram Micro... Ingram Music... Ingram Books... etc.), and Ingram is here in TN. So, the product leaves from a physical TN warehouse and is delivered to a TN consumer = sales tax in TN.

That said, NewEgg is great. I used to buy a lot from them before they started charging tax here. Now I only order occasionally. Shipping is prompt and service is A+.

Default AIT Delivery

As far as the AIT delivery goes, does anyone know if they will call you and let you know when the package is being delivered so that you can come home and be ready for it? I would hate for them to leave a $2000 tv in front of my door where people could steal it.

They told me it would be at my house between 10am and 2pm. It showed up just after 1pm. You'll have to sign for it, they won't just leave it on your door step.

I've used them for years, buy $thousands off of them a year, too fast of shipping for me.
I know I live in the same state, but its quite funny when you get home after work, fill out an order and get up for work and have the delivery man pounding on the door already
Granted Newegg takes their time now, but I get their stuff in 1 or 2 days and my friend in conneticut claimed he gets his stuff in 2 days time. Thats fast!
I've returned stuff to them with quick delivery on the replacement, its just they take the 15% restocking fee, but who doesn't nowadays on computer parts online shops? I really don't like the fee, but I've only needed to return an item once. The shipping/packing is great and the customer service is kind.
Yes u do pay Tax if you're in California.
