Default T90e on newegg...

I am thinking about purchasing two T90e towers at newegg. I was reading through old posts and saw a lot of people picked em up last month at 129.99 with free shipping. Well now while I'm shopping they are at 179.99 with free shipping. My question is has anyone seen these prices fluctuate often? If I hold out is there a good chance they will drop back down? Or does anyone know if they are only likely to keep rising? Thanks for any input.

good deal at $129 - hope that higher price is temporary - I wonder if this site's readers are keeping Newegg in business?!

It's hard to say. This is entirely based off of good ol' supply and demand. Right now demand is high because people have figured out they're the same as the Monitor line for cheaper. Now stock is running low and demand is still high, so up it goes.

My guess is that T90e's, Monitors and the rest will be near impossible to find soon as everyone seems to be grabbing them up.

Damn you aramis!!! You are making me wanna jump on them. And once I hook it up I am sure I will be thanking you like crazy. LOL. I don't wanna miss out, they are like almost 400 a piece on Amazon. And I don't think there are many other sites to get them on.

The T90e's are awesome. I am very happy with mine. Got them for $119 each on newegg. Was a GREAT deal! I would have purchased them for more though, they are definitely worth it.

Honestly, here's my opinion:

$179 apiece is too much. At that price point, you're paying more than I paid for my Monitor 60's. You're better off stepping up to the RTi line and paying a little more for a much nicer looking cabinet and (in my opinion) a nice improvement in sound.

I would wait to see if they come back down and if they don't, go RTi (or even another brand like Energy, Klipsch, or higher) with no regrets. Or drive up and buy mine.

Which rti are only a little more? The rti a5's are at Amazon for 320 a piece! I like the look but thats over my budget.

I guess "a little bit more" is relative.

$620 for speakers with better cabinets, drivers, power handling, the whole bit vs. $360 for speakers that folks were basically picking up for $200 at one point.

*edit* Buy.com has the black RTi a5 for $350 each shipped. http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...08&dcaid=17902

I guess what I'm saying is that there's a breaking point where in my opinion you're paying too much for that speaker. I would wait to see if it drops again.

Ok cool, well yea I can basically say "Well I didn't get as good of a deal as a lot of informed people, but it's still a great price on great speakers. And certainly much better than walking into a store and buying some!"
or I can say
"I can try and see if I can somehow try to budget double what I originally planned on spending in the first place, but the quality goes up with the price!"

Hmm it's tough but given my current economic situation I might have to grab the cheaper ones. And it should still be a drastic improvement over my Infinity Modulus Satellite/Bookshelves right???

The only thing is the only center I can find is the CS10's and 20's the CS1's and 2's are sold out and discontinued everywhere except for cherry which is not really the what I want.

Yeah, CS1's and CS2's are near impossible to find in black right now.

Another option may be to go with a different brand like Energy- their lower end stuff is pretty comparable to Polks in my opinion.

In the end, it's your money, but you asked if people thought you should jump on the T90e's, after all. Do what makes you happy at the end of the day.

If you are willing to ship your cs2, tell me your asking price and maybe we can arrange something. Unless you can only sell the whole package, in which case shipping would start to get crazy.

I got them for $129.00 each (and free shipping). They were still a good deal at $149.00 each. Even at $179.00 each, they are worth it.

I guess it's also a matter of perspective (as well as price). As you can see, paying retail for most speakers can cost a pretty penny. But for me, it wasn't just the sweet price. It was also a sweet and considerable upgrade from my old front speakers. See my gallery photos.

Thanks Jason! I just caught your rating on my gallery.. nice! I put up some more details/pictures on my thread here:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=84600

MARIO- I highly recommend these speakers especially at this price. If not, the TSi line is comparable but a little more expensive. In fact, I saw the TSi 300's on sale at Circuit City for 139.00+tax depending where you are and if they still have it in stock.

There are a TON of people here who will tell you what to get but there are only a handful who truly care about what you do with your home theater set up! Let us know which way you decide to go!

PM me if you have any questions!

Yeah I paid about that much for my 60's when I got them 6 months ago. More than a fair price. I see there are some 70's floating around too- wouldn't be bad to look at if you can get them comparably-priced.
