I'm pretty sure I'll pick up Point Break if the PQ/SQ are good.

OK I can understand your hatred for mindless action movies like Point Break, Commando, & Predator but The Longest Day? Not only is it one of the greatest war epics ever made but you do realize we're talking about a movie that was nominated for 6 Oscars and won 3.

Academy Awards for Best Art Direction (1962): (nominated)
Academy Awards for Best Cinematography (1962): Jean Bourgoin (won)
Academy Awards for Best Cinematography (1962): Walter Wottitz (won)
Academy Awards for Best Editing (1962): Samuel E. Beetley (nominated)
Academy Awards for Best Picture (1962): (nominated)
Academy Awards for Best Special Effects (1963): (won)

Care to list some movies you think are good?

And Patton is crap?

Best Picture, Actor (refused by Scott), Original Screenplay, Art Direction film editing and sound?

How about Butch Cassidy? Master and Commander? A Bridge to Far?

Too bad. Wasted words on a wasted member. Wonder what his idea of a "Good" movie is?

Don't even get me started about Patton. The opening scene to that movie is a pure classic. It won more Academy awards than The Longest day if I'm not mistaken. Seriously I would like to know what this guy thinks is great cinema.

There's a fairly new 70mm print of it running around too. I keep trying to get the few places around her ethat are still capable of running 70 to book it

You ask what is a good movie to me? Not all of these are Fox titles(obviously)

Schindler's List
Shawshank Redemption
Titanic
Ten Commandments(1956 version)
Passion Of The Christ
The Matrix(original only, sequels were bad)
All 3 Terminators
All 4 Saw films
2001 A Space Odyssey
No Country For Old Men
There Will Be Blood
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Transformers
Saving Private Ryan
Silence Of The Lambs
The Crow
Halloween(1978 version)
Independence Day
Kingdom Of Heaven(director's cut)
Gladiator
Lawrence Of Arabia
Training Day
Gettysburg

Every movie listed, save for There Will Be Blood because it's not out yet, I either own on dvd or blu ray.

I love this one, it's SO awesomely bad, it should be a VH1 special!

A couple years ago an LA channel was running promos for Point Break because they were airing it that week. You know that kind of trailer that has music but no voice over, and on the screen alternates between movie clips and text, sorta like the Stop Loss trailer...well this one was great. Between clips that set up the plot, the screen said "With...a...plot...like...this...who...needs...act ing?" followed by a shot of Keanu Reeves. I laughed so hard all that week.

Peeps, even identical twins have different tastes in everything. So nobody needs to justify that "this movie is great" and "this movie sucks". (And yes, I love Mrs. Doubtfire )

Any release is good to expand the available titles in Blu-ray. My only complaint w/ Fox is their ridiculous prices for catalog titles. Most other studios price their catalog titles at a much lower MSRP than new titles.

On topic: I like Point Break, but not at the price it's at. I will (and can) wait for promo/specials. Cheers!

With the exception of the one line in The Matrix when he first meets Trinity ("How did you know my name?") I thought Keanu was great in The Matrix movies.

Mrs. Doubtfire never stood a chance of being good. Not even out of the gate. For much the same reason as Flubber, Patch Adams, One Hour Photo, Popeye, Good Morning Vietnam and every other film Robin Williams has ever done.

Don't get me wrong, I love Schwarzenegger films for the most part, but the two mentioned were terrible. Rate them with Junior, Batman & Robin and Kindergarten Cop

I even forgot to mention the chief offender of the uber-crap mentioned above and that's the Die Hard series. The only good movie Bruce Willis ever did was Sin City and thankfully he wasn't on screen for much of it and his role wasn't hard to play. I'd love to walk up to him with a wet paper bag and tell him to act his way out of it.
Robin Williams is a versatile actor. Did you see "Man of the Year"? Excellent movie. Kindergarten Cop was very funny. Bruce Willis has been in a few good movies. The Die Hard series is great, not to mention Last Boy Scout and Unbreakable (can't wait to snag Unbreakable on Blu next week).

In summary, we all have different taste in movies. I'm just glad we can enjoy them on Blu-ray.

You're insane. Willis was great in the Sixth Sense, 12 Monkeys, Fifth Element, Pulp Fiction, Unbreakable, 16 Blocks, Hell even the Siege had its moments. And you call Die hard Uber-crap? I'm stumped.
