I think you're thinking of Lucas not Speilberg... anyways Speilberg's been on Blu's side from the beginning. No resistance necessary. He literally wouldn't let studios sell his work if they were going to distribute on HD. He was a huge contributor for blu-ray in that sense. Imagine how much damage INdy in HD would have been... I don't even want to think about it.

Asking for news on release dates for movies like JP, ROTLA, LOTR, Star Wars, and a whole hosts of other blockbusters is rather moot and has been constantly debated in the past. No one is going to give you a straight answer because we can't unless one is an industry insider having privileged information. Anyway, if and when there is an announcement for one of these being released on Blu-ray, it will be big news here. Lot's of BD enthusiasts here are anxiously waiting for that kind of news. I sure am.

To keep up to update on big issues like these I suggest to make it a daily habit of reviewing the most recent posts in Blu-ray Movies and Releases. Or check the blu-ray.com home page for news and new releases.
