Default NBA Playoffs 2008 Discussion

So who watched the first two Boston-Cleveland games? Crazy stuff. The first game was a mess for both teams, Boston squeaked out a narrow win. Game two tonight was all Cleveland in the first quarter, they were up by 12, but that didn't last. Celts cruised to a twenty-ish point lead and held it. Somehow they shut down Lebron to a career low 2-for-18 in game one and in game two he was kept pretty quiet, too - and did I mention the combined 17 turnovers he committed? Ouch. I'll be amazed if they can keep King James scoring low one more time, and in Cleveland. The Celts defense has been the dominating factor in these first two wins IMO. Go Celtics!

The Cavs simply let game 1 got away from them, and now they are down 0-2... then again, the Celtics looked extremely shaky on the road against the Hawks, I expect the Cavs would be tying it 2-2 by game 5 in Boston.

Yeah, don't under-estimate the Magic either. They were right there in game 2! Now that Billups is hurt, don't be surprised if the Magic eventually winning this series.

Out west... Lakers vs. Hornets in the WCF would be a pretty damn competitive series.

@ crackinhedz

I used to be a HUGE Magic fan too back in the day! I still care about them now, it is just that I don't consider I am as big a fan of theirs as before. Good luck the rest of the series.

It's a small world, I used to live in SW Orange county (over by Bay Hill) on Apopka Vineland and Conroy Windermere, until I graduated from UCF in 1997.

Good ole Catledge. Those were the days...Skiles, Ansley, Anderson, Wiley, Corzine, Acres, and who can forget Theus and Otis Smith (for mayor!). Times were much simpler back then...

The sad part is I can tell you almost every player who played for the Magic and their respective jersey number. Man I am sure that will come in usefull some day huh?

Your dad didn't happen to work for Jewett Orthopedic did he? A friend of my family was also a Magic orthopedic doctor, Dr. White.

Rats, Celts still couldn't win on the road (the only team left in the playoffs who hasn't won on the road). They hung in there until laming out in the 4th. Ah well, bring on Game 5!

Yeah KOBE now you can go enjoy your wine, 20 shots and some beer. A Jordan led team would never have let that happen...

To be fair, Jordan never had a entire bench full of stiffs either. Believe me I'm no Kobe fan but i can respect his game and Shaq was not walking through that door last night.

It was just glaringly evident how soft these European players are that come to the states, if they are smart they stop picking them up and get some players that are tuff in the paint, Bynum will help this problem out.

Very true. i think kobe could have used somemore help. you cant win on one guy, it has to be a team effort. that is what the celtics did, a team effort

You apparently missed the stint with the Wizards.

Obviously not the way I thought it would go, but have to give the Celtics credit for their defense that took Gasol and Odom so much out of their games. Kobe can't do it all alone... and neither could Jordan until he had the proper cast built up around him (see the Jordan Wizards or the Bulls from the mid 80s through 1990).

As good as the Celtics change from the previous year was, the Lakers year was almost as good, except they only got one good trade to net the difference. Hopefully they can make some moves in the offseason. A good power forward or backup center to Bynum is what's needed most, as both Odom and Gasol are softer shooting types.

yeah, after all basketball is a team sport but Jordan was a force and was a leader, if his team was in trouble how many times he brought them up? Where was this proper cast when Jordan left for two years in mid 90's? He's the best guy who played this sport for a reason.

Wizards Jordan took the team to the play-offs, didn't he? Besides, my 5 bucks are going with NBA bagged him to come back because rankings tanked right after he retired.

Great game there is no denying Kobe is probably the best player in the league (as of now and I hate him) but the Celtics have been and are the best all around team....
