Default NBA Draft 2008 Discussion..

As a Magic fan I am excited to see what happens this year in the draft. We haven't had a good pick since Howard.

News so far..

Raptors and Pacers have agreed to send T.J Ford, 17th Pick, Rasho Nesterovic for Jermaine O' Neal. (Pacers may include the 41st pick)

Blazers acquire 27th pick from Hornets for cash.

Bobcats acquire 20th pick from Denver for future first pick (protected).

Discuss....

Personally, I don't like the trade for the Raptors. But, what do I know?

Right on msn's front page it says torontos gm denies this trade is done. Also it seems like the clippers and sonics might swap picks.

I've heard it's pretty much a done deal, as long as they pass their physicals.

Also New Jersey has traded Richard Jefferson to the Bucks for Yi, and Bobby Simmons

Don't forget that Yi Jianlan from the Bucks is (tentatively) being sent to NJ Nets for Richard Jefferson.

I don't really like Yi. He's too much about himself it seems. And to me Toronto is going to quite conflicted. Neither Jermaine O'Neal or Chris Bosh are going to come off the bench but they both play the same position. Maybe it'll work, I don't know.

It won't be official until July 9th. Something in T.J. Ford's contract.

It's going to be such a loooooong wait until my Celtics pick. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself until then.

Does anybody think Riley will actually take someone other than Beasley with the number 2 pick?

Talk of a trade for a future #1, might be a smart move to bank one for a deeper draft. It works out well for that other team in new england that every person in america loves.

O'neal is a c/f. He plays a lot of center for indiana seeing how he is their biggest player. So there is no problem there.

The problem with him is the people in China that represent him. They have such a toght leash on him and Bucks management. I'm sure they're glad to get rid of him.

Lol at Knick fans who think Lebron would waste ten minutes of his career playing for that mess of a franchise when his contract is up! Really a euro player at the #6 spot, good grief what a waste of a pick!

And really Stuart Scott take your hanging the other way glass eye and go back to talking like a moron for sports center.

First things first you idiot, the shirt that sold of Doc Rivers was donated and signed by him and Paul and was put up for auction Monday on weei for the Celtics charitable foundation and raised over 50 grand. After non other then the original coach of the Gatorade dunk kicked the bid off at 20 grand by non other then Bill Parcells! God i cant stand Scott, i wanted to reach through the TV last night and smack him for not even being the least bit knowledgeable!

I was afraid that we (Spurs) were going to try to be so different again and draft nothing but internationals when we wouldn't even be able to sign them because of contracts held with their European employers. Luckily enough, we got a couple of quickfooted guards to back up our backcourt. We didn't however escape the draft without some European (with a contract
). On a sidenote, the Nets are going to look good this year, and if LeBron chooses to go to Brooklyn in a couple of years, they'll definitely be contenders.

the buck look much improved. Jefferson, Redd, Bell, Williams, Charlie V., Bogut, ect. Plus they have scott skiles coaching them now. I think as long as he doesn't ***** out and give up on his team when they go through rough streches they should be very improved.

The Nets had the best draft night. Brook Lopez who could have been a top 5 pick, and Chris Douglas Roberts at the 40th pick who was in some lottery picks in the mock drafts, and topped out at the 20th pick. Yi could be a problem for the Nets but could also be a huge help. Not to mention they dropped Cap Space for LeBron. Jay Z + Brooklyn = easy choice for Bron Bron

Yi Jianglian/Boone
Brook Lopez/Shawn Williams
Carter/Douglas Roberts/Anderson
Carter/Douglas Roberts
Harris/Williams

Not the best team in the NBA or even top 5 in the East, but still easily a playoff starting 5. This team wont get passed the 2nd round until LeBron comes

Yeah, but I don't know how well LeBron and Vince Carter would work together. I never really saw Vince Carter as the competitive type. LeBron's got that MJ will for sure.

What the hell makes you people think lebron will bolt from cleveland? It's his home town team. They have made it to the second round for the past 3 seasons including a finals berth last season. As long as that team keeps winning and the cavs finally aquire a second star (which seeing how some are just being given away it seem more likely - pau gasol...) lebron will stay put. Plus keep in mind big ben comes off the books in 2 more season same as lebron, so they will have cap space to resign him and bring in another star. Why the hell would he want to play for the nets? Their better days are way behind them. Plus vince carter isn't the player he once was. He is weak and has no passion for the game anymore. Why would lebron want to play with that?

Money talks my man, money talks. Not to mention I believe Carter will be in his last year. He is friends with Sean (JayZ) Carter. And the Endorsements of being in NY, beats the hell out of Cle
