That's easier said than done. Back then he didn't have the means to realize his vision. I am an artist myself, and I completely understand him.
It shows that he actually cares about his creations, and doesn't abandon them like most other directors, who just direct a movie and look at it as a job rather than a personal work of art.
Few directors have the kind of freedom that George has.

The Director's cut is fabulous and doesn't destroy anything. It makes the movie more impressive and up to date. Great job George!

Elvis does have a very good point.

Just release ***BOTH*** versions on the same disc. Lucas seems to be the ONLY director that has this problem for some weird reason.

I got no problem with different opnion but serious Ron, between you and me, this debate over Lucas movies as just gone on and on. We all know who want's the original and who does not mind the changes. The final thing is that Lucas does not care, the movies belong to him and he want's to play with them. It's just sad that every thread about one of his movies turn into a bash fest instead of talking about the movie itself. I would rather talk about THX-1138, which is a wonderful movie but the thread just turn into a mess.

And sorry I snap. Having a lousy day at work today, no reason to snap at you I know. I can't wait for 3 pm and my vacaton starting
