Everybody that I went to the theater with to see it loved it, but I thought it was stupid, although I would rent it on Blu Ray to see the special effects.

Add Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to the list. Great performance by Johnny Depp, but god awful movie.

He is cut from the same mold of crappy comedians who have to be over the top to be even remotely funny, comedians like Katan and Farley, a good comedian can do stupid as well, but the don't have to be stupid to be funny. Also notice how it was this brand of crappy comedian who brought about the downfall of SNL?

I'll skip the obvious ones, and stick to the part of the list that might contain surprises (i.e. critically acclaimed or very popular movies that I just don't like):

The Departed
Titanic
Gods and Generals (four hours of Stonewall Jackson praying... yawn)
anything involving Harry Potter
Transformers
Cloverfield
The Matrix trilogy, the Fountain, What the Bleep do we Know, Solaris, and anything else new-age... I don't need a philosophy lecture from an idiot.
Anything with Jim Carrey (except for The Truman Show, which is so-so)
anything by M. Night Shyamalan (except for The Village, which I enjoyed)
Memento (the gimmick gets old after about 20 minutes, but without it there's no movie)
The Saw movies (OK, all slasher movies, but especially Saw)
Stir of Echoes, the Sixth Sense, and any other ghost movies
The Underworld movies (takes more than a great ass to make a movie, though Hollywood seems to disagree)
Natural Born Killers (not the worst movie ever, but soooooo overrated)

I could think of more, but then a lot people hate more movies than they like; and I'm not going to be a grandstanding jerk and start listing movies I haven't even seen... I've gotta make a cutoff point somewhere.

Tidal Wave (from the 70s) is the only specific movie I can think of at the moment. For the most part though, I don't care for a lot of the spoof-type movies but of course, there are exceptions.

I agree with all of these, but it's been a long time since I've seen Twister, but I probably won't ever buy it.... I won't even re-rent transformers when it's on Blu, and the Simpsons was a rental, and the rest I don't want to waste my time on.

My other "never buy, can't stand" movies, are LOTR, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Carribean, New Spiderman/Superman movies, Matrix 2 and 3 (did they do a fourth?)

There are many more.... but I can't list every bad movie I've ever seen! These are just the ones I noticed people seem to like a lot....
