How naive... Have either of you even seen the picture on a Westinghouse? I have the 37w3 1080p set and it has a superb picture even when compared to the "nice Sony or 'Samgung'". Hate to be a stickler, but if you're going to bash on things, at least spell things properly and have some damn grammatical sense. Westinghouse is ONE word. The HDCP handshaking issue has shown up on Sharp, Panasonic, and Vizio sets also. So, I guess you do get what you pay for... but if I'm gonna get the same picture quality and the same problems with HDCP, I'd rather spend half of what the other brands cost. I have the Westinghouse and though it doesn't have a tuner, I bought a Panasonic DVD recorder with a tuner for 150 bucks... So total I spent 1150 bucks on this t.v. You don't have pixels but you have horrid interlacing... I've seen the Samsung CRT's... they have a good picture, but the flicker bugs me and I hate interlaced images...

Oh yeah, I purchased the Westinghouse from NewEgg... It came in one day to my house!! For a bulk item, even!

Oh, I'd just like to also note that I have a 26" Samsung CRT and a 52" Hitachi HDTV and both have had flicker/freezing problems while playing content from the PS3 via HDMI.

It's not that naive. I bought a 56" Samsung DLP.. this was before I got into blu ray and before I had an HDMI capable receiver... so I wanted to be able to plug my HDMI components into my TV and run optical out to my receiver. The Samsung would only send 2 channel audio out. This was a feature I really wanted.... so I returned the Sammy and bought a 47" Westinghouse LCD because it actually would allow 5.1 from HDMI ins to output via the optical... and it was about the same price as the 56" Sammy DLP.

I got it home..... and was IMMEDIATELY disappointed by how much worse it looked than the Samsung DLP I had returned. I tried every setting I could to make it look better... but the colors were much more washed out.. and the blacks were AWFUL... watching movies with a lot of dark scenes.... like horror movies (one of my fav genres) was TRULY scary. It was hideous by comparison..... but I tried to convince myself I could live with it.

Eventually..... after a few months and many movies.... and remembering how much better the Samsung DLP looked.... I moved that Westinghouse in to my game room and went and got the Samsung LED DLP back. I've never for a moment regretted that decision. The Westy is OK for what it's used for now... Wii playing... but was NEVER going to cut it as my main viewing screen.

TV's... much like sound systems... are VERY hard to judge in a store. But having seen both the Westinghouse LCD and the Samsung LED DLP in my own home environment... under identical circumstances.... I can unequivocably say the Samsung LED DLP has a MUCH better picture than the Westinghouse LCD.

I owned a 42" 1080p Westy for 28 days & could not believe the PQ!!! I've never seen such a terrible picture...You wanna talk about washed-out?!?!? I'm sorry, but God bless. I gave that TV all the chances in the world too... Vizio's are beautiful in comparison, so thats what ended up being my garage HDTV for awhile, now its a 50" Panny.

I have a 32" 1080i Westy, and I'm quite happy with it. I know I should have something better, but if you play around with the settings you can churn out a pretty good picture.
Now I bought mine 3 years ago for $600. So I think I've gotten my money's worth by now.
