Son of Rambow

I rented Son of Ranbow on one of the HD pay per view chanels a few months back. I thought the movie was realy good. One of the kids that stared in this movie reminded me of River Phoenix. I even thought he looked like him a little bit.
Well anyways I been wanting to buy this movie. Of course its only out on DVD over here. And I've only scene it at Best Buy? I came close to buying the DVD version a few times. I've had it in my hands. But then I ended up seeing a Blu-Ray disc that I would like to have. And back down The Son of Rambow DVD goes.
Like many others on this Blu-Ray forum I dont buy movies on DVD anymore.
The only thing I still buy on DVD is TV shows.
And speaking of coming of age kids movies I'm hoping that Criterion will release My Life As A Dog on Blu-Ray? I've always did like that movie.

well only because this is a more independent film which is only being sold in the us by best buy at stores. im hopeful that one day it will come out but that probably will just be a few years when and if(and i hope it does) blu finally takes over dvd.

Son of Rambow will be getting a US Region A release as soon as February 2, as per The Digital Bits. No, I don't know why this wasn't announced sooner.

My PS3 is a region B, same as SA and my copy of Son of Rambow is region B and does NOT work, dissapointed especially as all in front of TV ready to go .... so be careful

Sorry to hear that... But it means I was right about opting for a set-top BD player, instead of a PS... Have you tried updating the firmware?

It's one of my favourite movies of 2008, and it has maybe the best audio commentary I've ever heard, only comparable to some stuff Abrahams & Zucker & Zucker did on Airplane! DVD and audio-and-pop-up-video commentary on Goonies DVD and BD...

So has anyone tested this Blu-Ray up until this DATE on a North American Ps3? I read a comment from this post saying that this Blu-Ray still didn't work even after the 3.00 update on the PS3, which should've skipped the 50hz trailer. But that comment was posted in 2009. I'm hoping now it works by now.

I'm this close to buying it on DVD but I really don't want to double dip.

Recently (October 2011) a german blu-ray release for this film came out.

Anyone who can confirm if this works with North American PS3's, please do. Hopefully there's no unavoidable PAL trailers this time
