Yes, saw this in the theater and it's definitely worth seeing! In some small way, it's similar to Be Kind Rewind, but instead of remaking several movies, the kids are trying to make one original movie. And they are very clever and resourceful at it.
Whether or not it's worth buying however is going to be up to your movie preferences. ![]() |

The reviews all sound good, the trailer is funny, the Blu-Ray's back cover seems to show a Region A and B and I really like Jessica Hynes (Stevenson) and the filmmaker's last film (Hitchhiker's Guide), so I'll give it a blind buy thru Amazon UK. Thanks!

i'd really like to get son of rambow on blu and it seems the only way is to get the uk release which is supposedly region a/b. now ive read about problems with the disc playing in region a players due to the pal trailers before the movie.
i know this blu wont work on regioin a ps3's, but i am wondering if it will work on sa players. im just hoping that some of you have imported the disc and could be helpful thanks. i have a sony bdp350 and 550. so if you have the import and it works on either of those players please let me know. |

'Son of Rambow' is not region free, per Blu Ray Region Code website.

I have this disc, and it's region free. I tested it on my BD-equipped PC with every region setting, and it DOES work. (I have a retail disc, mind you, meaning the info Optimum provided is not correct.)
It has limited compatibility with non-PAL enabled BD players, but my region 1/A Panasonic 30 DOES play it, even the main menu is visible, so you needn't guess anything. The only problem is it has some first-play trailers encoded in PAL, which you can cure pressing SKIP button several times, until you see the main menu. |

As you have noted the Panasonics are OK with it if you hit next, but other players dont work at all doing this. |

I am using a Region A Samsung 1500, and it works on mine. What happens that the screen will go blank after loading. What you need to do is to press Disc Menu, and the menu will pop up.
I also have a Region A PS3, and it doesn't work on the PS3. Great show, by the way. |
