Exactly -- Warner is suddenly the pariah of BD-land, the only studio regularly going for lossy audio and whatnot. And to think they single-handedly ended the format war, only to have Paramount and Universal produce better Blu-rays than them.

Let them get their act straight and do The Exorcist right -- with all the cuts and all the supplements, perfectly transferred and encoded. Sony's absolutely gorgeous CE3K Blu-ray should be their benchmark here. Nothing less would suffice.

Watching the Pea Soup fly in HD will be the best scene

That is what I believe as well. We would have heard about it by now for a Halloween release this year.

OH MY GOD! This is THE Blu-Ray I want!

All three versions would be awesome (The original 1973 version, the remastered version, and the Version You've Never Seen). Lossless. Oh I sure can dream on..

There is currently a DVD box set with every film and every version of every film (Part 3 had two radically different versions with different directors).

Here's hoping this gets emulated on Blu.

No, Part 3 had William Blatty going all art-school "quirky" to direct George C. Scott. Which is why no one remembers it.
(And no, that's a rhetorical comment, so you all don't have to write in with "But what about the hallway scene??", which is about all anyone DOES remember from it.)

Part 4--or Part Zero, depending on how you chronologize--had two different versions released.

This is the horror movie to have on Blu. If Warner screws it up I will never forgive them.

I did not see this movie as a kid. I have seen it in my young adult years. It did not scare me or leave a meaningful impact. I know it is a "classic" but for me, it has not stood the test.

I saw this movie when I was like 8 years old. It scared the crap out of me. It has always been one of my favorites. So this is an automatic if it is actually true.
