I'd get this in a heartbeat but I'd like for them to add "Hey You" back in.

What's a techno DJ? Does that stand for Douche Junky? Or Delinquent Juvenile? Or Dumb Jerk? Or Depends Jeans? Or Dick Jammer? Never heard of a techno DJ...NOT real music.
I can keep going if you like or NOT like you lammer troll! If you never heard of Pink Floyd why bother to respond to the honest post? Do you think the world revolves around only the trash you like to listen to or watch? Pathetic loser, grow up and visit the REAL world. Waiting for replies from the ignorant low lives, trolls and bottom feeders. You know who you are....

I agree with you John...not much love for talent. The Wall deserves to be on Blu-Ray. It's a great work of art that is entertaining and has some of the best music in the last two centuries. But, what would the kids today know of art? Now, crap on toast, THAT they do know about and they gobble it up like flies on dung.

I'll buy The Wall the moment it comes out on Blu-Ray. Guaranteed.

It's sad...most kids today don't know what they're missing. Most seem to lack enough musical appreciation, the ability to form a coherent thought, or the listening skills to tell trash from talent. It's true. There's a hundred times more 'acts' today and a thousand times less talent.

I call it the crap on toast syndrome. If all you get to eat is crap on toast, how could you even know what REAL food tastes like? The same applies to what the so-called music industry is churning out today.

Street Cred is all that they care about. That's because what passes for music and entertainment in today's world is mostly enjoyed by the uneducated masses that know more about hype and marketing than what really matters. And that which matters is talent to sing and the ability to play a musical instrument. NOT grunt, spit, and bark into a microphone like a cartoon character. Has anyone actually heard Kanye West 'sing' without electronics--it'll make your ears bleed!! That's crap on toast. But the kids eat it up like Christmas pudding.

You can sell deep fried crap in the shape of donuts sprinkled with powdered sugar to most of the kids today--if it has street cred, sounds like a fart in an echo chamber and is put to a background beat they'll devour it like ravenous dogs. It's new, it must be good.

No need for talent when a singer's voice and music can be altered by electronics. What mostly passes for talent today escapes me. You can have a bunch of half naked girls dancing on stage with several stooges grunting into microphones with a heavy background beat wearing bling and beltless pants to their knees and the crowds of little boys and girls melt like icecubes on a hot sidewalk. Mass ignorance doesn't justify making stars and celebritites out of talentless cartoon characters. That's crap on toast.

Sure there are a few REAL singers and a few REAL bands with REAL talent but 99% of what kids like and that which passes for entertainment today is just noise made by talentless morons spreading hate lyrics, and misinformation. They're terrorists in a musical world. Slap a parental warning on the packaging and the sales will hit the roof. Kids and teens won't get a clue until 10 or 20 years from now when they have kids and then have to listen to that 'music' (or what passes for it). Now they're clueless and self righteous but it's all unsustainable in the end. They're being fed crap on toast--and liking it!

Pink Floyd is Prime Rib and potatoes! It'll put meat on your bones and nourish your mind. Their music is timeless and will live on longer than 99.9% of what passes as music that's made today. Why? Because, after all is said and done, REAL talent counts. Case in point. Look how many acts have already gone down the tubes, never to be heard from again, in just the last two years! It's all crap on toast. It's all the same. It's NOT memorable. They better hold on to the money they make because they'll be in the soup lines tomorrow....

Great Bands like Pink Floyd spent years practicing, honing their skills in small underground clubs before they ever hit it big. They pioneered music techiques that never existed before their time. They gave amazing concerts that excited the crowds with their tremendous talents and skills. Although their stage act included extravagant multi-media events, like floating pigs, crashing planes, flashing laser light shows, quadraphonic sound, and towering movie screens, Pink Floyd let their great music do the entertaining. They didn't need to have half naked women prancing and preening to distract the audience from the no talent pimps on stage. They were primo muscians then and 40 years later (and nearly half their members dead) they can still out perform any crap toast act today. Period!

This has a Russian Blu-ray apparently, but it’s not on the site.

Does anyone here know anything about it?

If we ever do get this on Blu-ray, I sincerely hope they make improvements to the sound mix, include the LD and other commentaries, and actually do a whole new transfer. It deserves the TLC treatment. As for why it has taken so long, and wondering if there is any demand? Beats me. My YouTube video of "What Shall We Do Now?", which isn't on the album, has over 40,000 views. I put all the quality and effort into the sound and used just a picture for the video. My original FLAC file is in my playlist until I die.

I don't know what the delay is, but if it involves lawyers and other crap, WORK IT OUT, FELLAS!

I am not sure the soundtrack for the film has anything to do with the elements that are used for the album but the masters are supposedly in such bad shape that they couldn't do a 5.1 mix for the album. When they released the three Pink Floyd Immersion sets only The Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here received surround mixes. I am just going by what James Guthrie, who does all of Floyd's releases, has stated.

Another thing that is rumored is that part of the settlement that let Gilmore use the Pink Floyd name for the Momentary Lapse Of Reason and Division Bell albums gives Roger Waters complete copyright control of The Wall. If this is the case then Waters could be the hold up because he doesn't get a hurry for anything.

One thing is certain. Roger LOVES money. He ain't getting any younger, either. If he goes to The Great Gig in the Sky before a BD is released, I hope that some kind of legal documentation is in place that would still allow for it. There shouldn't have to be a Harmy or Team Negative1 type of situation to preserve this film.

My main focus is to extract the songs that don't appear on the album in the best quality possible. Seeing the film and Scarfe's animation in true HD is right up there too.

When the Tigers Broke Free.....

I'll never forget seeing this movie for the first time in college in 1992 at the University movie theater. There was a sign out front that said, "No Smoking...of ANY kind!" That was funny because as soon as you walked into the theater that night, you were greeted with a rather odd herbal-like aroma and smoke everywhere!

I've had this on laserdisc since 1989 (it was my very first laserdisc!) I got the DVD years later. I'm still waiting for a Blu-Ray. I read somewhere it was shown on HDNet Movies at one point (that dastardly channel had the gull to do Hogan's Heroes in near widescreen even! But it looked awesome. I wonder how The Wall looked on it. In fact, the only time I've seen True Lies in HD was on a TV channel like that (and oh yeah it was definitely HD quality, maybe not Blu-Ray remastered quality, but 10x better than the crappy DVD). I don't understand why they refuse to give the fans what they want. If people like Roger Waters and James Cameron want to release some souped up version in the future, fine, but damn, I"m not getting any younger here and neither are they!

From what I understand, the bootleg Blu-rays on eBay are just HDTV broadcast rips. Unfortunately. I have an MKV from HDTV, but it can never be the same as an actual release, as long as it is done right and not rushed.

Almost anything (720p, 1080i) is better than SD on a larger screen. I'd take HDNet Movies over SD any day of the week.

True Lies looked excellent on HBO HD. It's certainly better than the DVD on a large screen. I can't imagine why James Cameron won't let it go other than being a total control freak (he has that in common with Roger Waters for sure) that's too busy doing submarine dives and dreaming of blue aliens no one really cares about (Avatar was big because it was the first real 3D movie in decades; the actual movie was only fair, but now he's going to make THREE more sequels? God, there's no way it'll make it past two. I'm betting the next one will be it unless he can release it in Feel-Around 4D or something (ala the Kentucky Fried Movie).

I'd bet the farm it's simply dvd files on a bd disc, or a broadcast rip, with no difference in quality.
