Quick update:

Just installed the plinths, and I've also been running the speakers for about 25-30 hours. With the install of the plinths, I have heard some improvement in the bass, and I've also noticed some changes for the better, but nothing major as of yet. Also, how do I run a sub since my preamp doesn't have a sub out. I was told to use a y-cord or something off my amp? Yes no, ideas? Sub is a Supercube I with both speaker posts and a sub in input.

LFE in, low level in, low level out, high level in, high level out. I'm guessing there is some form of an rca cable that'll split and run from the preamp to both the amp and the sub?

You could use the "high level" input/output or maybe use "Y Cables" on the low level inputs. Using the "Y Cables" will change the voltage and impedance however.

Old school two channel setups used passive subs or high level input/outputs if a powered sub was used.

I think your best bet is to use the "high level" (speaker level) input/outputs.

Maybe someone else could help chime in on this too???

What exactly is the connection process for using a Y cable? And where would I find one at? I check monoprice but wasn't really sure what I was looking for. Thanks

You might want to ask around to see if anybody does use "Y Cables" to run signals from the preamp to an amp and a powered subwoofer. Technically it will work but I'm not so sure it's the best or safest way.

In any case all you need then is two "RCA Y patch cables". From the preamp outputs just connect the patch cables. One to the left channel output and one to the right channel output. There then will be four outputs. Send a L/R pair to the amp and the other L/R pair to the L/R "low level input" on the sub.

I still think it would be wise to maybe consider using the "high level (speaker level) inputs". I'm sure either way you look at it there will be a way that is satisfactory. Maybe go onto a two channel audio related forum/website and look for info or ask people how they prefer to hook up a powered subwoofer in their system. Surprised no one else here has shared their thoughts or experience yet. Anyone???

So I was able to find out I can run rca's from my P3 to my sub, and then from my sub to my amp, amp to speakers and have everything work, except the crossover will be a fixed 80hz I believe. Although, I do know I have a nob on the back that can change the crossover, so this may not be the case.

As far as the ST's are concerned, I'd say they are pretty broken in now, and they sound even better. I've been listening to music non stop, and it's amazing the stuff I was missing. An example is in the song Sound of Settling, by Death Cab for Cutie, I had never once heard the guitar line in the chorus, but now it's clear as day. It's a great thing!

You know what??? I overlooked the fact you said the sub has low level outputs. You should be fine and also should be able to use the subs x-over cutoff to any frequency you want. Good thing the sub has low level outputs!!!

I would however maybe look at custom length cables from "Blue Jean's" if you are looking to save some $$$.

I spent a whopping 12 bucks at monoprice for some rca's to test it out, and then depending on how it goes get some better interconnects.

For those interested, audioholics just reviewed the songtowers, and here is a link...
