I recently got a memorex blu-ray player and I'm using the hdmi connection. I love the picture quality I'm getting with it, however I don't seem to be getting the depth in the picture like you commonly see on the setups at best buy. I know those setups are using the sony lcd screens and different hardware, but could those screens really be adding THAT much to the picture that there's a very noticeable difference in my tv? Any info you blu-ray samsung guys could give would be greatly appreciated.
Hmm. All that I know is when I was comparing a bulb DLP to a LED DLP, it was like a night and day difference. Best Buy had them sitting side by side. The difference in brightness and color depth was extreme IMO...

I'm assuming since you own the Samsung LED that you think the LED was much better? I'm heading to BB and CC tonight and was going to look at the Samsung LEDs. I'm a fan of Mitsubishi, especially their Diamond series, but the prospect of not having to change a bulb is appealing.

Way better. To me, it was night and day. Samsung had a bigger screen of the model on display that I was interested in (61"?) next to the older "Bulb" Sammy which was also 61". I did further more research on LED technology for about a week and then went back and purchased my 56" before it even hit the store.

I haven't regretted it since.

I'm looking at the BIG screens...was eyeing the 73" Mitsubishi Diamond. I think the largest Sammy LED DLP is 67"?? I know Sammy makes a 72" DLP, but dunno why they didn't extend the LEDs to the 72" model.

OK well i have a HL56A560 and a playstation 3.
All i can venture to guess about your problem is perhaps a configuration issue?
Did you go into the settings of the Blu-ray player and set it up for all the proper output resolutions and screen size??? Also did you check your tv to make sure that the picture format is set right. Also in the owners manual i see under the detailed settings from the tv display menu is a black adjust.
Hope this is the info you were looking for????
