I read somewhere online that they were releasing REC sometime in Jan. or when the remake hits DVD/BLU.

First review

"Actress Jennifer Carpenter of Exorcism of Emily Rose fame surely deserves some kind of award for giving the most hysterical over-the-top performance in a horror movie since Marilyn Burns in the original 1974 Texas Chain Saw Massacre."

well don't read the current issue of Fangoria regarding the film, your hopes will be dashed.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this. And for the record, I scare VERY easily...

[REC] was far far better than quarantine but the sequel [REC]2 was big let down for me…

The Spanish blu-ray I own has no lossless sound, I reckon the dvd will sound more or less the same. In terms of image quality, haven't seen the dvd but probably there's not such a big difference because of the nature of the film (handheld shaky camera).

When I got this movie a year or two ago my friend said "out of focus shaky footage in hd… cool!" lol

[Show spoiler] wow, this is cool, thanks for the tip!

[REC]!!!
I enjoyed Quarantine but I never got scared once...in [REC] I caught myself jumping once or twice and whispering "Oh shit..." a few times. Which is telling me [REC] is much better

[Rec] is a very solid film for it's genre. Quarantine is just average. Even 'neo-scene-by-scene' remakes can completely miss the atmosphere and this one does.

It seems your original questions have already been mostly answered.

I loved both Rec movies specially because the second movie started off right where the 1 st one left off at im so excited for the 3 and 4 one ive seen the rec 3 trailer so many times now lol

As For quarantine i thought itt wasn't bad but i really like how they kind of changed the story line up and they where able to take the second movie to a different location instead of just being in the hotel.i really like the second movie which is strange because of it being a straight to dvd movie..i really hope a bluray comes out soon ive held off buying it on regular dvd
