Default Quarantine vs. Cloverfield!

They do seem to be similar in the way they were made. Like a documentary. Anyone like Quarantine? And wasnt the girl the same one that played Emily Rose?

Shouldn't this be about Quarantine and [REC].

Just wondering.

I mean there are other films made in that documentary style. But, I think the OP just lumped together the 2 bc of the way they were filmed with the shaky cam and the documentary film style.

Well, as much as I liked both. I think I still like the grand daddy more.....Blair Witch.

Gonna see Quarantine this weekend. Thought [Rec] was pretty good. I usually prefer the originals over the Hollywood re-makes, so I guess Quarantine will be forgotten quite fast...

I agree.
Quarantine is still worth a looksie. I think they pulled off the last act better than [REC] but that may just be me.

I liked Cloverfield, havnt seen Quarantine, but Blair Witch did it first, and made a hell of a lot more green than the other two combined! I'm surprised that Lionsgate has'nt released Blair Witch on Blu yet,it probably woudnt look any better than the special edition DVD anyway!

High Five on that one.
It has my outmost respect after it knocked off John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN as the biggest grossing independent movie of all time (did I spell that right?).

I’ve never had motion sickness from watching those movies that people complain about getting motion sickness from, but that actually did happen to me with Cloverfield. I really liked the movie but my stomach started getting knotted up and I had to watch it in two sittings. I’ve heard Quarantine is shaky as well, but not as bad as Cloverfield. Confirm/Deny?

Personally i thought the shake level was very similar between both films. I hated Cloverfield, but was pleasantly suprised by Quarantine. Its worth a watch, imo

Ummmmmmmmmmm really dumb question here, but what the French does [REC] mean? I keep seeing that on this thread and it gets lost on me.

Blair Witch did not do it first...

Anybody remember The Last Broadcast and Cannibal Holocaust?

Blair Witch was just the first major success in that format.

Um ... both films are 100% different.
The way they both were shot is similar, but that's it.

I thought Cloverfield was a good flick. Quarentine did nothing for me at all beyond make me a bit urpy in the stomach. I dont know why it did, but it did. Anyways...I loved Cloverfield.....I wish there was a sequel to it. Or prequel...whatever...

I liked it and you're right. I hadn't even noticed that but yeah, as someone already mentioned, it's the same girl from the Exorcism of Emily Rose. I thought she looked familiar.

Anyway, the movie has some really nice demo scenes for audio.
