Default New BD-players are faster

I have been reading that the PS3 takes about 20-25 (non Java) to over 30 (Java) seconds to load a disc, while "the new 4" (Sony 350/550 and Pana 35/55) are faster with load times between 10 (non Java) and 20 (Java) seconds

Please correct me if I'm wrong (with details please).

The S350 consume 26W max of power and the heat from that is generally equal to room temperature..

That may seem stupid, but personnally i couldn't tolerate it. Some time in the summer the fast kicked in 3-4 gear and it was louder than my projector.

It mean computer are also faster at starting DVD, than DVD player but make a lot of more noise and heat..
Although the PS3 is the fastest boot up payer, if you have a BD live disc, whoa nelly, prepare to wait minutes for the disc to load.

Your information is wrong. Outside of BD-Live titles on release day, I've never had to wait 30 seconds for any movie with my PS3. I would say 15 seconds at most on Java titles, and that's being forgiving. It's probably less than that.

...and it should be. The fricking thing uses a lot more power than a standalone and has a lot more power as well.

That's not an issue with the player, that's an issue with the BD-Live servers. That'll happen with any BD-Live capable title on release day in any player. Simply turn off BD-Live or skip that by pressing the menu button.

As a gaming machine, the PS3 has much more RAM than any standalone will have until they are popular enough to reach the $99 price point. It's just too expensive from a manufacturing perspective in order to compete with the PS3 on load times. Remember that the PS3 (as a gaming machine) is designed to lose money on the hardware sales and regain it in software sales over the following years. Standalone BD players are designed to make a significant profit on the hardware sales.

P.S. My PS3 has only ever experienced a load time longer than 10 seconds on one occasion... 'Iron Man' needed about 3 minutes upon its FIRST load. Otherwise, everything else takes approx
10 seconds.

that and the PLAYSTATION 3 is also designed to play PLAYSTATION 3 games, so of course its gonna kick the **** out of stand alones in terms of raw power. it is a gaming machine first and foremost after all

I have the MGS4 Limited Edition console. As for noise, I never hear the fan. At times i've even wondered if the fan works! But oneday I did hear it so I feel better now. And about the heat output? I can't complain about the heat disbursemnt from the actual unit alone. But when my door is closed and I have the PS3, home theater, tv all running along with the compact fridge I have in my room ............ yes, it gets quite warm. Finally, load time?? Never an issue. Iron Man, Sleeping Buety, nothing more than 10-15 sec max time.

P.S.
For those of you that caught it. "Sleeping Buety" was a joke. LOL

Unfortunately, yes...I guess I'll wait for the next big thing, until then I'll keep my SHARP (just decided that)

PS3 will only be number 1 for a little while longer.
