Default is the ps3 still the fastest bd player?

with all the new blu-ray players coming out and that just came out is the ps3 still the fastest? Sony just released their 550 player, if it is slower why do they keep releasing "new" players that are slower than the ps3? Or I guess I could as why is the ps3 so fast compared to the other players?

I currently own the ps3 but want to get another bd player for the other room. most likely sony or panasonic.

Yes.. but it's noise noisiers, especially in close compartiment and if you're room is not temp controled you'll get 3-4 gear easily (witch make noise). It also consume 140W of power and generate a lot of more heat thus heating the room and space etc.. it's a loop

The S350 consume 26W max of power and the heat from that is generally equal to room temperature..

That may seem stupid, but personnally i couldn't tolerate it. Some time in the summer the fast kicked in 3-4 gear and it was louder than my projector.

It mean computer are also faster at starting DVD, than DVD player but make a lot of more noise and heat..

Yes, it's still faster than the S550 which I just got, but we have to keep in mind that the PS3 is basically a pumped up computer processor, which requires a lot of power and cooling. The S550 is definitely cutting down the speed divide though.

The S350 can't play PS3 games, PS2 games, nor PS1 games. The S350 can not surf the internet, display your local weather, stream Hulu.com/Youtube.com, download movies/games from the Playstation Store, nor can it hold and play music, pictures, and video files--in fact, it can't even order a pizza (yes, the PS3 can)!

You see why the PS3 runs a bit warmer?

Those that have PS3's that are very hot or make a lot of noise.. I am wondering.. how old are they? Mine which I got in Feburary 2008 has never made a peep ever and does not put off a lot of heat either.

Perhaps those with these 2 problems, have the old PS3's that also plays PS2 games. My brother got one of those off ebay and it did make a lot of noise and ran hot.

I think PS3's these days do not have these 2 problems.. at least mine never has.

I have an S350 and startup is about 6 seconds and movie load has been lightning quick compared to my gen 1 player. i.e Ironman S300 = 90 seconds, S350 = 10-15 seconds.
