Because that was the premise of your OP, making it impolite to knock folks who respond based upon that premise.

If Amazon and Best Buy and other major retailers were to fold as part of some grim economic future, we'll have far more important stuff to worry about than Blu-rays. Like food.

Again, your thread was titled, "If amazon get economically buried. Blu-ray shall fall". What do I not have "str8"?

RUR is correct. If the economy was to worsen to the point where most companies would be forced to file Chapter 11, Blu-Ray would be the last thing on many people's minds--the first would be food and shelter.

I suggest you educate yourself on economics, finance, and business. You (and others like yourself) are the reason the stock market is doing so poorly, even in situations when the companies themselves are doing fairly well.

Don't forget Blu-ray is increasing sales, and they just announced that they expect this year's total sales to double in by the year's end. That is only 2 months that they expect will sell as good as the other 10.

Maybe I misread it, but that is the impression I got from it.

What a joke. The media is exacerbating the economic downturn by sensationalizing any pessimism in the economy.

Amazon's Q3 earnings report just came out today and they are doing fine as a company. They have a very healthy balance sheet and are in no danger of going bankrupt for those concerned. I'm not sure how the original poster came across the idea that Amazon is failing.

Whats next? Buy.com is hardly worth anything on Wallstreet, and amazon is right behind it despite its "online popularity"
The economic situation we are in right now, though the worst in my life
is absolutely nothing like the Great Depression, it's not even close...

And last i checked Amazon, though not making money like say Apple, is still
doing ok...

It's more than just the media sensationalizing it. The private bankers are in complete control of what is happening with the world economies right now. They are purposely trying to use this "hard times" scenario to further extend their Big Brother grasp over the human race. And, since they are the ones who own all of the majore television networks and control what we are told, they are setting up for a checkmate move that will have us welcome the next step towards a global economy where we will becomes slaves without even knowing it. Countries will start to look at combining their economies in order to try and fight a depression. Much like the Euro, North America can expect an Amero proposal to spring up in the next 5 years. And that will be bad for everyone...... except the private bankers of course.

Well, considering that George W. Bush has already had a North American Union bill floating around congress for several years already, I think that maybe the private bankers have gotten wind that the uphill portion of the battle you mention has been mostly traversed at this point. Strange how the timing of this economic windfall coincides nicely with the amount of time this bill has been circulating in congress... isn't it?!?!?!

ummm congress is not in session right now, and unless they vote on a new
stimulas package in an Emergency session there not going to be in session till after the election, aint sh*t getting done till the next Administration....which if poles are correct is not going to be following George Bush's lead...
