Ryko Distributions is releasing Dead & Buried to blu-ray on January 27th

Over a month ago:

Blue Underground has announced that they will bring 'Dead and Buried' to Blu-ray on January 27th. This horror film comes from the creators of the popular sci-fi 'Alien', and even features many of the same actors. Video will be presented in 1.85:1 1080p accompanied by both 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtracks.

Extras for this release include:

Audio Commentary #1 with Director Gary A. Sherman
Audio Commentary #2 with Co-Writer/Co-Producer Ronald Shusett and Actress Linda Turley
Audio Commentary #3 with Cinematographer Steve Poster

I will be buying this as I did not buy the DVD. The VHS version that I have (yes, I said VHS) is pretty crappy and is by some company called Substance.

This is a true horror classic, with one of the nastiest deaths in movie history.

Here are 3 clues for you:

I think the note about many of the actors from Aliens being in Dead & Buried is false, I don't remember seeing any of them. I haven't watched this movie in years, though, and I am tempted to get the upcoming blu-ray to watch it all over again. Here's what Amazon has to say about the film:

James Farentino stars as a small-town sheriff who discovers that the victims in a string of grisly murders are reappearing seemingly alive and unharmed. So how is the audio and video quality on the Blue Underground Blu-Ray version of this??? I've never seen this before and have yet to pick it up but I read comments from a few people here and other sites that say this BU version looks like shit.

Anyone who owns this Blue Underground Blu-Ray edition care to chime in and give their opinions???

It's pretty so-so. I can't compare it to any previous DVD releases but it definitely wasn't impressive. Then again, it wasn't distractingly bad either.

It looked like a decent upconvert you might see on a cable channel.

(fyi, I watched it once a year ago so these are just general impressions)

Compared to the DVD I had this is 100x better. You can actually see what's going on in the night scenes.

It has always looked a bit soft to me on any format but the Blu-ray from BU is the best I've seen it look. Great movie.

It's an average, dated transfer of a niche horror film. It's not the worst I've seen from Blue Underground, there is an improvement from upscaled DVD. If you like the film, it wouldn't stop me from buying it.
