I think there are a lot of video games that have enough material over the years to put together some decent scripts. Maybe one day we will get video game movies up to the same caliber as comic book movies, but look how long it took them to reach a high level. Anywho here are some game I think could be made into a good movie with the right cast, director and writer.

Legend of Zelda
Metroid
Shenmue
Elder Scrolls
Phantasy Star
Devil May Cray
Onimusha
Uncahrted
Diablo
Baldur's Gate

There is also a DBZ movie coming out, and we'll see how cheasy that is lol

I was actually a part of a group of screenwriters where Stuart Beattie, the writer of the new GI Joe movie, Halo movie, Collatoral and the up and coming Australia, came and talked with us.

It was really cool. He said that he turned down BioShock for lack of an engaging story. He also turned down World of Warcraft. He said he would have had to have played it for a year to really understand the game well enough to develop it into anything worthwhile.

Beattie's already written the script. It's just a matter of the studios getting their act together.

There is a devil may cry tv show, i just picked it up on netflix and can't wait to check it out

So are those actual scenes taken from the movie? People kept on saying it isn't and that it was fanmade, but i really seriously doubt that with the special effects/costumes. Seems to well done for a fanmade movie....

You could make a drinking game out of it though, everytime some one says kamahamaha take a drink!!!!!

I think I would die before it even started for ruining one of my childhood favorite shows.

What ever happened to the Metroid movie? John Woo was supposed to be directing it so maybe there will be metroids clamping onto doves during some ridiculous shoot out with Ridley.

I dunno how I feel about a Metroid movie though cause the whole point of the series is youre alone with no help and no talking (for the most part).

I would kill to see a Zelda movie, but I don't think it will happen anytime soon.

In terms of what is realistic, I'd say:

God of War
Metal Gear Solid
Dead Space (hey, they did RE movies)

If they can find a way to make it without ruining it, Diablo has a chance to be successful. For that matter, Motorstorm could be a decent movie too. Kinda like Deathrace on an island. Film it the same way they did Speed Racer.

I think Resistance has a storyline that would translate well into a movie too. Albeit an expensive movie.

Yes I actually own it. I really liked it and it makes a great addition to the excellent game.

I felt like I was watching one, thank god I got in for free with the pass in Live Free Die Hard. I told my buddy who INSISTED we go that I was not paying for it, I knew it was going to be bad but it was far worse than anticipated.
