Get a Sony!
They work so well, I bought a second one!

Any help would be greatly received.

Hello Sebcesc. I think many solutions to your problems have been answered. I bought the Blu-Ray Dark Knight today as well and just put it in. It plays flawlessly with the Powerdvd Suite 1.0 that came with my LG/HD-DVD Drive. Every disc works accordingly. I want to say wow.....Sebcesc. This laptop sports an 8600 Nvidia GS Graphics card. Make sure the drivers are correct from Nvidia and that they are up to date. Now, the T7500 duo core CPU is fine. You have a Sony NEC Optiarc Blu-ray ROM/DVD writer. Some people have had problems with the Sony Blu-Ray drives. Make sure you get the model number under the device manager and head on over to the firmware page, http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php and see if their is a new update for that specific drive. I have also heard that some people are having problems with Windvd Blu-Ray. Try Arcsoft Total Media Theater Extreme or Power DVD Ultra 8. They seem to work very well. You might shell out anywhere from $69.00 to $100.00 for each software though. Lastly, I have to say that this laptop is one of the best I've ever seen. It even has HDMI outputs on it. Now, that is some heat in a small package baby. Hopefully, this worked and welcome to the forum. Hello all of you guys. I'm still here causing trouble. Just kidding. Take care and enjoy that Dark Knight people.

Well considering it's Microsoft your dealing with who have proven not to be to friendly towards Blu-Ray it's hardly surprising.

Having Vista as your OS does not help things ether. How much RAM comes in these laptop like 2 gig

You need full scalable memory (4 gig) to get it running properly.

If your laptop has a 8600 in it, make sure to buy a player that supports purevideo. That will offload a substantial amount of strain from the CPU to the GPU.

Dude!
This is an XP MCE 2005 machine 7600GT and 1GB RAM - played BDs fine.
Recently upgraded to 2GB RAM(it was onsale) - still plays BDs fine.
My other VAIO is Vista Home premium 8400GT 3GB RAM - plays BDs fine.

What other OS(s) will allow BD playback? Yeah.

Yeah well you need Direct X10 and XP don't have that. About the only reason to have Vista is for Direct X10.

In what way?
I have WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray
ArcSoft TMT
*and* PowerDVD 8 Ultra.
Pretty sure Nero has a plugin that will play BDs too...

Trust me, XP machines can play Blu-ray Discs.

Just so you know, the AR190G was first sold June of 2006 - a few months before Vista was released in 2007.
BD drives were available before that.
What Windows OS was available in the first part of 2006?

There is a task that computer drives can do that PS3s cannot... but the Mods get upset if we talk about it.
Plus, you can get a BD burner(more $$$) - no PS3 can burn.
