Like I said before if SONY would only stop being so stuborn and lower the price. 378,000 units sold compared to The Xbox 836,000 and never mind Wiis 2 million plus sales.

Blue ray players sold was 147,000 blu-ray players sold on black friday
378,000 PS3s with blu-ray players=525,000

Thanks GOD blu-ray is finally coming out of the PS3 shadow and not just depending on the PS3 sales. I bet if Sony would have discounted the PS3 $50-$100 bucks the PS3 could have sold a couple more hundred thousand. They may be taking a loss but a few hundred thousand more PS3s would surely make up for it! These damn people at SONY need to wake up and lower the price!!!!!!!!!!!

I will say its great to see NINTENDO back on top!!!!!! i will take them over Xbox any day!

I've gotta agree with you here. It's been too long since they reigned the list (1986-1995). Nintendo is quality at its finest (as is Sony, for the most part). I have owned every Nintendo console and every Sony console, and once I got my PS3, my Wii playtime plummeted. It's a shame, because I don't like the direction Nintendo is going but at least Microsoft is keeping the game industry from going full-on casual. I do believe that MS will be unveiling a system in 2010 though because they can't have much left in the pipeline that aren't first party sequels to games that already came out on 360 only (e.g. GoW). Sony on the other hand has some promising titles on the horizon.

a big part of the ps3 losing ground is because blu ray was a big buying point for the ps3. stand alones can now be found in the mid 100s and people are cheap in general and will get a lesser of a product for less money. i have all 3 consoles and i use the ps3 for movies, madden and cod waw. i have not used my 360 in avery long time because the games i buy are multi platform and since i have a ps3 in 2 rooms i bought the titles for ps3. the wii only gets used by my girlfriend and her friends and currently i have no idea who's house it is at. i blame sony's marketing for not pushing the benefits over cost more.

Seriously. I am still proud of my 60GB purchase. Woe is the day that I ever break down and get me a 360 POS. Got a Wii, now running on 3 months of nonplay.

As I've already stated earlier in another thread, these numbers mean as much to me as Aaron Greenberg's latest blabberfest: absolutely nothing.

i agree i think that the PS3 is the best out of the consoles because it has better graphics, a built in Blu-ray player, and loads of other extras but people are scared off by the price tag and turn to buy a $200-$300 XBOX 360 or a $250 Wii. I still love my PS3 though

My freinds mom got a wii over black friday weekend, she has NEVER touched a game in her life, guess she was one of those 2million. she plays her little wii tennis, but that was when she first got it. now when i go over to his house i see the 2 wii motes just sitting there gathering dust. this happen to everone who buys a wii, so why the hell are they selling so much? 3rd party games dont sell on there for damn sure.

I have all 5 major gaming platforms and seriously, you need to care if the PS3 sells like ass, because its just going to lose more support and get crappier ports if its not going to do well at retail. Even stuff like Resistance 2 isnt doing very well (freakin left 4 dead outsold it on the 360), thats not going to make people like insomniac think "man, these sales arent doing very well, oh well, ill still be a exclusive to the ps3 software dev!".

I honestly think this is the worst gen of all time so far. Of course, sony did this to themselves with their idiotic pricing and stupidity of not ripping off the 360 enough at launch.

Can't beleive people pay 269$ for a Xbox 1 level of hardware... i guess people who buy the Wii don't give a crap about graphics. It's even less than than because game audio is Pro Logic ...

It's funny tought, the first 2 games are selling very well on Hardware that is 2x less than the Wii..

With a poor economy, it is *much* better to sell fewer consoles than to lose millions. Why do you all care so much that Sony could have sold a couple hundred thousand more consoles. Do you honestly believe that the battle would somehow have turned itself around, if only Sony only lost the month by 200K consoles instead of 400K?

I don't have a source on this but I'd bet Microsoft just lost a buttload. I still find it impossible to believe that the Arcade doesn't sell for a significant loss.

I bought the Wii on launch day like I did the PS3 and i will say my PS3 gets used all the time where the Wii is just used for quick internet browsing. I will say I like the Internet Opera browser on the Wii. Thats about the only thing I use on it daily when I check google news, my email, and bluray.com news. If it was not for that this thing would not be used as much. I like the Zelda, Mario games because thats what i grew up with, but those are the only ones Im not in to those disposable kiddy games.
