Here's a great receiver that Home Theater Magazine gave fantastic reviews for, it says it's 350 but you can find them for under 250 and can accept HD Audio through HDMI:

It can't decode internally, so you'd be forced into choosing a player that decodes them all internally, such as the PS3. This isn't a bad thing, but you should be aware of it.
