Onkyo 605.

Problem with doing that is that it's not a true comparison between the two- you're comparing one that's getting the full range vs. the other that's only getting the highs. (Highs being sent via one wire and lows via the bi-amp'd connection.) Once you select "bi-amp" in the receiver, it splits the signal for both, regardless of how you hook it up. The only exception to this is if there's some special/different setting on your Yammy that my Onkyo doesn't have.

I hadn't thought of that. Well my comparison was watching all of the reference blus I have and all of my favorite songs for a week or so without bi-amping, and then doing it again with the fronts bi-amped. As I said, the difference was that I could hear every small detail in the mp3s I played, some of which I hadn't previously heard at all. Also, the bass is overpowering, whereas previously it was hollow. You could always switch to 7.1, but not many movies support that right now.

Nah, I'm not arguing against you. I felt like there was a difference but am willing to say there's a possibility that it's placebo. I have not the room nor the interest in 7.1 in my current house and setup.

LOL.... I just realized who you were and that I already know your setup. I should be more perceptive. I'm sure it is just a little placebo, to be fair.
