I need to get myself a Blu-ray player on the computer, but that means new screen, new graphics card, new sound card, new audio system. Ouch.

Consider getting AnyDVD HD. It will allow you to bypass most copy protection hardware requirement (no need for HDCP compliance). If you have a resonably fast computer, it will allow you to play Blu-ray on your existing machine.

Would still require a BD player and those don't come cheap yet (at least not in France).

That's too bad. You can pickup LG combo HD DVD/Blu-ray players in the US for under $100.

Yeah found another LG for cheaper. Still doesn't beat the $99 price, too bad they don't ship internationally.

BTW, I've found a way to scan my covers now. ^^

Be aware, they are all called H20L, but some models can only read (GGC) and others read & write Blu-Rays (GGW). In addition there is a 2-3 letter coding for the different versions. It's a bit confusing, but explains the higher/lower prices. If you need only a player you may go for the cheaper ones. They are sold at eBay for about 100 €.

I think its hit or miss with france amazon. I ordered it and got steels.

I did order what I thought would be steels of Next, a couple others and they were not. I guess its a buy at your own expense.

BTW the DOA steel is freaking awesome. I love hot chicks on a cover.
