oh, i thought you meant my post. He just needs to know 120hz is used to reduce the motion blur and judder. the smoothing 3D looking effect that can be turned off and on is the frame interpolation e.i. "Auto Motion Plus", "Tru Motion", or "Motion Flow". If he had a 120hz only TV (without frame interpolation) then he would probably understand. I have one, its a Panasonic 120hz LCD and it does not have the smooth 3D look.

I think anyone that does not like the 120hz should just turn it off.

Good point! I keep the 60hz on my tube on high all the time. I never turn it off, because then it would be................well, 0hz

lettucenpico - this is the home theater forum, if it were perhaps a Def Leppard forum then I could see your point about not wanting people to explain "correct information", but given that this area of the forum is specifically about technology it only makes sense that misinformation is squashed.

If you don't care about it, you're probably posting in the wrong area of the forum.
