If I bought a more modern amp / receiver (mine is a denon avr 3802), do they all nowadays tend to have the ability to compress the dynamic range of DTS audio?
You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but why on God's Green Earth would anyone want to compress the dynamic range? Do you want it to sound like modern pop music or MP3's or something? IMO, dynamic range is an important factor in the quality and fidelity of audio, compressing it seems asinine.

So do you listen to your reciever with Midnight Mode on when listening to Dolby Digital tracks or something?
