Nice Job!! I've had my 58PZ800U for about 3 months now, and I am still amazed at the picture quality. Panny plasmas rule!!

I've seen my friends' and family members 120Hz LCDs and the black levels on those just do not compare to the Pannys.

Also, you must make sure you set up ambient lighting. Its the cheapest and best do-it-yourself modification that you can do. It made a world of difference at night...it really makes the black levels stand out. I bought the $50 LED light strip from Ikea.

WOW, I've been watching TV all day the Panny has me hooked. Raw, and the Fiesta Bowl look amazing! The blacks are better than anything I've seen! I got my panny for a great deal, 1298.00 with a 5 year warranty it ended up being 1840.00, The warranty was a must buy though! Best Buy sales the same Panny for 1899.99 thats without warranty! HHgregg rules...

I currently have a 2003 Panny 50" LCD with a great pic, everyone who sees it brags on it.I have never had a stuck pixel and have only replaced the bulb once. That being said I can't wait to see how my 50PZ600U looks.Six years plus advancement in technology plus it's a plasma.

Congrats to the OP! I love plasmas; I definitely prefer the plasma picture to an LCD. I will say, however, that the top of the line LCD HDTV is still going to look awesome, and only discerning pros will really have a "problem" with how a top-shelf LCD performs. That being said...plasma all the way no matter what!

I hear that, man! I've got a ton of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on my HTPC and the kids take over the TV way too often for my liking. I had to practically shoo them away last night so I could watch my Warriors!

You upgraded from an LG LCD to Panny Plasma, which is why i can understand you'd think plasma is king. Thats like comparing a Ford Focus to a Chevy Corvette. Obviously the Panny is going to outperform the crap outta the LG LCD! That Panasonic is a great tv, and probably the next tv i purchase.

But dont be bashing LCD's now, there are some very nice LCD's on the market that can hang with the plasmas.

Just Kiddin! Congrats on the new plasma, im jealous!

Actually, in the panasonic manual, it says little or no lighting is best viewing for the tv...

I did alot of research and the Panasonic TH-50PZ80U is one of the most popular TVs in america!
Congrats man thats the same thing I did. Now I'm going to get a 46" Panny to replace my 42" Phillips in the Master Bedroom.
