Are you sure? Others on another thread said that Entertainment in Video region-locks their stuff:

A movie without the movie. That could be a problem... That sucks though.

So you have the U.S. giftset? I'm still wondering if the U.K. version is a giftset and if region free.

just watched the Region B release of this movie last night, first time viewing the film, with my wife.. its a tearjerker alright, reminded us both very much in some ways of the Bridges of Madison County, as well as of course Titanic..

i have a question re the transfer - at some points in the film, there are what i'd almost describe as a moire effect in some shots, you can see it around faces/and especially rachel mcadams hair.. the shots become fussy on for a brief moment.. anyone else notice this? also i noticed that i had to jack the true hd mix way up so that i could hear the dialogue cleanly..

i wonder is the region b disc the same as the region a release?

cheers

Hi Mick - not sure, but I think what you might be seeing is edge enhancement. Read the official blu-ray.com review under the Video section for The Notebook, they said the edge enhancement was pretty bad:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movie...69&show=review

For an understanding of EE, click here:

Thanks for that, yes it sounds like 'ringing' alright.. its not throughout the film, just noticable in some shots so it doesnt spoil things..

shame that its used really when it adds nothing to the party

Default Anyone else hate THE NOTEBOOK packaging?

I picked up this BLU today because my girl keeps telling me what a great movie it is. I saw it came with all corny stuff but i figured the regular case was still inside! Now what?! im stuck with this lame girly packaging. i just wanted a normal blu ray case. anyone know if the is a way to get artwork to slip into an empty blu ray case?

Meh... got it for the movie... not the packaging... bside... you could always snag a empty bluray case... and then just print out a custom cover for it...
