Yes I have the 3 disc DVD set as well I think I paid £4 in HMV = bargain! I also have the Peter Jackson Production Diaries which was £1 in Morrisons plus the original 2 disc SE DVD. So I'm all set fro extras lol. Most of them would have been in SD anyway so I'm not bothered.

Fantastic film though but I can't get through the New York scenes because they upset my sensitive side....

Still waiting on the Jeff Bridges King Kong who would have thought he'd be the hairyist thing in the film lol. And Rick Baker playing an ape! He didn't bend down like an ape even, he just walked around like a dude in an apesuit.... and it won awards!

Is it worth buying the 3 disc DVD if you have the blu ray? I vaguely remember a documentary showing the models being recreated by PJ, is that on the 3 DVD edition?

To get the most out of PJ's King Kong:
Buy the 2-disc DVD for the bonus features
Buy the 3-disc DVD for more bonus features
Buy the production diaries DVD for the, well, production diaries
(^ Only if you care about bonus features, which some people actually do)
Buy the blu-ray for the picture and sound quality of the movie, both theatrical and extended

God, I just wish that all of the above were released in a single blu-ray set.

The documentary I am after (the extra) is the one featured in this video.

Where PJ recreates a lost scene, is that on any of the King Kong (2005) releases?
Thanks

I'm sure the answer to that is no! I've only seen this on the 1933 King Kong US DVD edition from 2005, and the recent US Bluray. I have both, but as I no longer have a region one DVD player, I can't watch Son of Kong or Mighty Joe young on DVD, though oddly enough the Kong DVD is region free, but that's now redundant as I have the bluray, which is exactly the same as the DVD double disc.

Is the video bit rate really 24.50Mbps as stated on the main page or is it just an error and the same like the US release with a bit rate of 16.33Mbps. Also are the 2 cuts seamless branching?
