I was debating waiting or not to get it on blu but it does not look like it happening especially when they released them now in different packaging.
I'm helping my aunt pick a laptop tonight so I think I will grab season 1 while it is still $19.99 at Best Buy
For some reason season 2 is $34.99

Just saw this and thought it was funny

Season 1/2 combined is more expensive by like $20 that if you bought each season alone lol

Same illogic as Best Buy

He doesn't also find it funny that both shows are proceeded by a show called "Two and a half men"? I sure CBS is doing some kind of subliminal thing by string those 3 titles together.

I agree with previous posters' assertion that if the show was produced in high definition (and especially if I saw it in high def) then its home entertainment format must also be hi def (i.e., Blu-ray) before I consider buying it. Further, I buy only complete series packages, not individual seasons. I have no problem waiting a long time for such products to meet my specifications. Lots of other titles (feature films, miniseries, etc.) do already. This is the main reason I haven't already purchased the big sets of The Sopranos, Queer as Folk or Six Feet Under.

Also, I disagree that situtation comedies like The Big Bang Theory (easily one of my favorite such shows currently airing) won't eventually be granted full series (or at least all season) Blu-ray releases. It'll just take some time. I think the studios know there's an audience waiting for such releases. One more advantage this particular show has going for it in terms of its chances of being released on Blu-ray is that it's owned by Warner Bros. which, compared to studios generally, has been enthusiastic about releasing its library onto Blu-ray, usually at competitive pricepoints that sell its products.

big bang theory is great, but doesn't make much sense for a blu ray release to be honest
Season 4 of How I Met Your Mother is on Blu already....

I agree that DVDs look like crap on any decent sized screen (mine is 137"), but I think they are not more compressed than any other DVD production, e.g., movies. I'm pretty sure everything on official DVD releases receives the standard MPEG-2 video compression.

Universal and MGM tended to put 5 episodes of hour shows, or 10 of half-hour shows, per DVD, which is more than recommended. Most companies don't do this, though.
