Nice find. You save 40% off retail just because they changed the faceplate.

I've heard them with B&W's and with the Klipsch THX series speakers, Not to mention a ton of other high-end speakers (JMLabs, Signature Paradigms, ect.) I have just found out however, that Klipsch has killed the Aragon brand name along with the dimise of Acurus (this was the lower end of the company). Acurus was killed off a few years ago (but made superub products). Aragon continued (it was the higher end of the two - both designed by Mondial - Proceed, Mark Levinson ect). Well last year Klipsch killed off Aragon (RIP). I guess it's a result of the economy - more people looking to value instead of bleeding edge, high-end performance (Its like the only ones left are the ones priced so high that even they don't expect to sell over 10 amps a year)!!! That nice $2000 - 5000 spot is disappearing and high value companies like Emotiva are taking a hunk of that pie. Emotiva does represent a high value performace vs cost in the amp market.
I most heartily agree with Rich on the Aragon and the Accurus lines. I have at this point set aside my long used Accurus A-250 power amp, but I do have 4 upgraded Aragon Palladium 1K monoblock power amps (the top of the Aragon line). I most strongly suggest that you consider the Aragon 2007 Audiogon listing that Rich has linked for an extremely high quality 7 channel amp.

http://www.klipsch.com/products/disc...ails/2007.aspx

This amp may be more in line with the earlier discontinued Accurus line (and not quite to the standards perhaps of the bigger and more expensive Aragon line) is reviewed here:

The stand is from Salamander's Synergy line. I got it way back when I was still working for Magnolia. I know Audio Advisor still has'em.

yes maybe i was asking for a lil 2 much for the price i am looking for, i have decided against a seven ch amp am going for 5 instead. Sunfire has really caught my eye, i would be willing to go up to 2500 at the very most, but i will have to wait quite a while for that. When i go to the sunfire amp i find it difficult to find any info on such an amp. I cheked out the clearance web page provided by a previous poster where he found a great deal, but could find nothing from sunfire.
by the way, im sorry if i insulted anyone with emotiva, i know they make really great products and they are defiently high end

I would say if you do not need balanced outputs the http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/7200.html Outlaw 7 channel 7200 provides 200 watts x seven channels for $1849. If you want balanced outputs then for $2149 you can get their http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/7700.html here is a review http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/7700.html

You've opened up a new can of worms now that you have settled for a 5 channel. There are many amps on Agon that would fit in your budget, Forte, Krell, B&K, and the list goes on!

ahhhh this process can be so frustrating, there are so many choices out there and its so hard to feel like you are making the right choice when you are spending so much money. I want to make sure that i am making the absolute right decision before pulling the trigger. Iv never purchased used electronics, i have heard alot about audiogon though has anyone here had personal experence that they could share

I have only had good experiences with Audiogon! Here's a good 5 channel amp with a 7 year warranty http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls....8739&/ATI-2505 It's an ATI 2505 250W/per channel amp - a brute beast and only $900.00! Can't beat that with a stick!

You should generally do quite well buying used or dealer demos on Audiogon. Look at the buyer/seller ratings the way that you would on eBay. Many of us have 100% ratings. Read not only the percent ratings but also the comments of buyers and even sellers. If you buy through credit card and/or Paypal, you should have some protection as well. Usually people at Audiogon really want to make sure that they maintain their rating status, it is a high end market. In addition, the Audiogon rating system is extremely conservative when compared to eBay and many sellers will be extraordinarily conservative in their ratings to avoid issue of having a bad, negative, or even neutral rating.

I've only bought off of Audiogon twice, but both times have been excellent.

Hello,

I have bought quite a few things off of Audiogon and yet to have any issues except one minor one due to shipping damage. Which was UPS's fault. Definitely ask the questions you need in order to satisfy your curiosity, politely of course. You can look up info on any member you need and as long as you are smart about what you do, you're not gonna have any problems. Do a search on amps valued at a little over what you are willing to pay as many people are negotiable but don't low-ball. New listings are added daily so if you are the patient type you can find just what you are looking for.

Take all the proper shipping precautions (insurance, proper packaging) as amps are usually heavy buggers.

Before you know it you'll have a great amp !!!

I'm not trying to offend you nor am I offended myself, and I'm also not trying to convince you to buy an Emo amp. However, are you speaking on experience when you say "a lil more high end"? I'm not trying to offend any Rotel owners out there either, but when I was shopping I did my share of amp listening (which included Rotel) and if you want to go a little more high end over Emotiva I can assure you you're going to have to reach further than Rotel (not ragging on Rotel, they make quality gear). When I first heard of Outlaw and Emotiva I didn't believe they could offer much at their price points. But the proof is in the pudding, and I'm very happy to have been proven wrong.

Thumbs up I would recommend to buy new since it is within your budget to get an Outlaw Audio

To me used is fine only when you do not have enough money to get a good quality product but you have enough bucks to buy a brand new high quality balanced output Outlaw Audio seven channel amp. I know it is a little scary buying a brand like Outlaw which is a manufacturer that sells direct but I am so impressed with their quality and price and wished I knew about them earlier as I spend more and think I would have gotten a better system with some of their products.

I agree! why buy used when either an Outlaw Audio or Emotiva can be had brand new. Old amps may have capacitors and other things wear out; then you will pay for repairs, etc. I think used is great but only when you are on a budget yet your budget allows you to get into separates and high quality audio.
