invisibleshield.com

Not hard plastic, but probably the best thing for it overall.

I was actually just checking out their videos. I think I'm going to grab one for the front, but I'd like to find something possibly solid black to hide the (IMO) ugly shiny metal back.

I say iPod - 1 word - APPS

As far as the case - I have a "Contour" rubberized plastic case with a anti-glare screen sheild on my 1st gen iPhone - works great and doesn't affect the sensitivity at all
(if you are needing a new cell phone, the iPhone might be a buy it all in one device if you get the 16GB version)

Get Ipod touch IF space does not matter to you And If price does not matter to you and all you care about is APPS :

Get ZUNE if you want tons of space for MP3'S and a nice MP3 PLAYER at a pretty good price

No problems

Infact it gets tossed around the house by my niece

They make film disposable sheets that protect the screen from scratches. Just pull it off and put a new one on when it gets too funky to clean anymore.

I got an 80GB iPod Video 5th Gen for Christmas 2006. I love that thing to death. It died on me back in April of '08 a week before prom so I freaked out. It was a couple of months out of the 1 year warranty so Apple was going to charge me $200 to fix it and I was like; "Hell to the no!" There was a place out here on the Big Island called Island iPod Repair who was an unofficial repair for iPods so I was like screw it and go to them. They charged me $50 over Apple's $200 to fix it. The scary thing was after I paid they shut down their shop and I feared that it was gone forever and to all my shock and surprise, it came back GOOD AS NEW!!! I was so relieved.

I got my zune about 2 years ago, and it works great...love it. Do everything with it, even dropped it a few times and it's still flawless. I'd buy another one.
