That's why every Friday night I pay the kid next door to kick the back of my couch and have his mom sit in front of me and text someone.

Also to the OP:

Does this count as a toy?

Nah, no one will take offense to you basically calling their setup "messy and cheap". I'm sure this'll go over swimmingly.

To each their own. If they like it, what's it matter? I used to have a lot of toys when I was younger and single. Now my toys all plug into the wall.

*edit* Off topic, but whatsup with cramming your BP8b's up against the wall? Seems like it kinda defeats the bipolar nature of the speakers. You should move your sub and then move your whole setup over so those speakers can properly reflect off the front wall.

I'm not offended- I don't have any toys at all, and no movie posters either. I even think that those all those "TrueHD"/"Pioneer" etc plaques that people put up aren't something that I'd ever want in my place, even if I were single. I just foresee this thread taking a downturn once one of the guys that do sees it. You have a very nice system, with the above exception that I noted regarding your speaker placement.

I only have a few posters in mine and 2 of them are those cool ones from Blockbuster that are textured and wooden instead of paper. If you look at my gallery you will see those 2, the Star Wars and Last Crusade ones. I also have, a Dark Knight small poster I got at wal-mart when Dark Knight came out but it's only temporary so there is something to see when you walk in. I haven't decided what to put there yet. I don't have any toys. I did used to have some shelves up on the walls in there that had some gentle giant statues and mini busts from star wars, a harry potter mini bust, and a weta kong vs. v-rex statue. To me it looks more clean to not overdue it though. Sorta the less is more thing.

To everyone, this is about your opinion on toys and posters not about your opinion about my opinion on the subject if that makes any sense

I think that if I had a room that was SOLELY dedicated to home theater... I'd probably put up a few well done posters and other memorabilia just to further emphazise the whole "theater" theme. However, as long as my theater is also used as a living room.... well let's just say that I find movie posters, etc a tacky way to decorate a living room, IMO, YMMV, etc etc etc.

Pittbullmike,

If you read my updated system picture profile, you can see that I posted my toys(well a fraction of them) as they are in the same room as my HT and that's the only place in the whole condo I can have them out I didn't feel like posting pictures of my Chogokins but what the hell; since others are doing it why not I am not against posters or toys as long as they are in the same room as the HT/system. It is after all a picture of your HT....

Cheers,

Rhett

makes me wonder what kind of theater you go to. none ive been smell that way.

its all about personal taste. some people cant even stand digibooks or slip covers cause it messes with the uniform look of thier bd collections and they flip out. i dont mind/care and pics i see with stuff like that doesnt bother me.

I can understand you wondering about this topic, though the phrasing of "cheap and messy" may rub some people the wrong way I think.

I think you have to look at it from the point of view as the posters are art. And some of them are really well done and can provide an awesome visual for a room.

I like looking at them and I also have a few of my own.

I dont have any toys but I have seen some really nice statues in some galleries that I'd love to have.

Thanks
