It is unless you want to buy every movie that you want to see or pay $5.00 every time you rent from a B&M store.
I have only had one problem with a BD that got stuck and stopped playing about 3/4 of the way through the movie, but I ejected the disc, put back in, went to the main menu and picked it up with the scene it stopped on and it worked fine. I have had issues with the disc's either taking a few days or not arriving at all, but I blame the mail since they're most likely at fault and not Netflix. |

I've been a member for a long time and had only 2 or 3 broken discs during that time up until recently.
Within the past 3 months, almost HALF of the blu-ray discs I get are cracked on the outer rim. This could be caused by a bad mailman but it is getting ridiculous. |

I rented a planet Earth disc and it froze during certain sections, I would go to the same place and guess what? It froze in the same spot again.
I might of rented a good 100 blu-rays and this has to be the first time I had an issue with them. It beats buying blu-rays or movies you want to see once. |

That is convenient and all.... if you have a Blockbuster. I don't. Has Blockbuster gotten to the point where they get all the Blu-Ray releases when they come out? Do they get more than just a couple of each title? If yes, then great. If not, then there's no reason to not go with Netflix. They still provide really good service even if they charge for Blu-Rays.

The TRICK is....make SURE that they receive a disc (or 2 or 3) on the Monday befor the flick releases. I have done this hundreds of times and they always ship the new release on Monday. EVERY time. ![]() |

Yeah. The fact that you get the new releases on release day is one of my favorite things about Netflix. That and the fact that they have a distribution center only about an hour and a half away from me. There are issues, but if you manage your queue correctly, there is a lot to like.

I have the Panasonic DMP-BD35 as well, and haven't had any problems with the discs not playing from Netflix. I've had a few regular DVDs that were pretty trashed that ran into some issues, but never an issue with the Blu-ray discs.
Hopefully you figure out the problem soon. I can't imagine anything more frustrating than 50% of the discs not playing. Ack! |

I have had a similar experience with Netflix and blu-rays. I have a Panasonic BD30 with the latest firmware, and I would say I have pixelation on about half the discs I get from them. It is so prevalent that I started a thread once in which I questioned whether or not Netflix was getting defective copies from the studios for rental. The funny thing is they almost always look clean.

I find it so odd that the responses here can be so polarizing. It's like half of the posters have nothing but problems with Netflix, and it's all smooth sailing for the other half.
I personally signed up for Netflix just a few months ago and I haven't had any problems yet. No broken discs or anything like that. Knock on wood... I'm not usually the type of person who has to/wants to see a movie the day it comes out on DVD/Blu-ray, though. I tend to use Netflix for older movies I haven't gotten around to watching yet. I've been very happy with the service I've gotten from Netflix! I personally think it's definitely worth it...like someone else said on this thread, it saves me from blind-buys that turn regrettable. |

only problem ive ever had was with the very first netflix shipping which was a bluray-dog day afternoon. Movie and everything worked fine. But like 2 special fetures didnt work. Really no big deal guess the disk was cracked a bit on the side. Other than that no problems. Reason i love them is because im getting Hellraiser 2marro and i belive that doesnt come out for another 2 weeks!
