Give SIREN Blood Curse a shot if you haven't tried the demo.

Only played a demo of the second game on PS2, didn't like it much (visibility, controls, lack of direction) but as a new introduction I found the Blood Curse demo a lot easier to get to grips with.

Hey that was pretty **^* scary, I tried the demo a while back and finished it after forcing myself! with my dog as company!

I just wish I could buy the physical game instead of downloading it from the PS3 store, although I think they do sell copies on ebay, from Japan.

I'm gonna pick it up someday, this is pure survival horror. I'm very pissed that Fatal Frame and a Dead Space prequel are WII exclusives though, that sucks, although Im pretty certain a Dead Space 2 is coming on PS3 in the future.

I think it's going to be awhile before we see anything good in this genre, Dead Space and RE5 have set the bar pretty high.
Why would you say that when you are clearly wrong? What is the point?

DEAD SPACE on Wii has to be a rail shooter because of how the Wii is built, so they gave it a new name and futzed with it, made it a prequel.

The DEAD SPACE Wii game is NOT DEAD SPACE 2

I second this suggestion. Great game although not as scary as the original, the controls aren't nearly as bad. PlayAsia will sell this copy overseas. GREAT soundtrack to it, as the whole game is all about atmosphere. I think you'll love it.

Dead Space 2 Features Multiplayer?
April 25th, 2009

EA's excellent, gory action game Dead Space still awaits its sequel. Although EA didn't make any official announcements, the continuation to the well-received third-person sci-fi survival horror is practically certain. Especially now following EA's survey aimed towards fans, asking if they'd like to see co-op and Zero-G deathmatch in Dead Space.

We can only assume that this could lead to an actual feature in Dead Space, which would be nice indeed.

Um, Yes it was. You had a 7-foot tall super zombie stalking you the whole game. You don't get more survival horror than that.

RE4 however, with psychos instead of zombies, was more like survival-action.

IMO RE3 diverged from RE and RE2 because it is much more "action oriented". While zombies are still the dominant theme it took the first step towards the more action based play which is now RE4/RE5. The only difference in why most people still consider it survival horror is that it "looks" more like RE/RE2 and of course is still closer to the original RE roots. But at the time RE3 came out it got poor reception for being relatively different.

I picked up Haunting Ground for PS2 and I've been playing it on my 60GB PS3. I think it was mostly overlooked when it came out, but it's surprisingly good.

What I really want is a Fatal Frame game for PS3. I've been playing FFIV on the Wii, but the controls are a bit awkward.

Yes, DS Extraction is a prequel exclusive to the Wii but there is ALSO talk of a DS 2 sequel.

As long as we can also talk old PS2 horror games: Clock Tower 3 brings a good story and graphical presentation to the mix. Gameplay is kinda annoyingly hard without cheating though.
