The Samsung reflective screen is out.
Then get the 5 series or 610 model, they still have the matted screens.

Or do the new Sony's have a newer screen that help with this common LCD problem?
personally I have never had any issues with viewing angles and I am sometimes over on the couch with an off angle and Its never bothered me before, I think there could have been some help with keeping it bright looking by the settings and the store lights. You should have reached up and changed the settings to Normal or Standard.

My 2-year-old Samsung has poor viewing angles I guess. It's set up against a corner, and the room entrance is on the adjacent corner, so that you have a clear view of the TV from the next room. Anyway, from that view, the colors are pretty washed out compared to the best views directly in front of the TV. The contrast is definitely not there. After seeing the 32L5000 at home, I think newer LCDs have definitely improved in this area. Is one type of screen (i.e. glossy vs. matte) better at maximizing the viewing range?
