Agreed. But I gotta say that this forum has made me a bit more discriminating when it comes to it.

Now imagine watching it on the big screen in a haunted old theater. My wife still hasn't forgiven me for that. LOL

I still can't bring myself to watch it again. Those eyes ... those eyes ... ... freaked the crap out of me.

Watch the video footage from the previous crew in slow-motion. I did that once. Never again.

I have thought of doing that a couple of times, but I feared that it would lose its effectiveness in doing so.

It appears from your post...that it is not the case.

Default Event Horizon Question?

Hi Blu Ray Forums -

Can someone tell me if this blu ray at best buy is the same thing as the regualar blu ray.

Best buy has this movie saying this. Event Horizon[Widescreen Dubbed Subtitle AC3] - Blu-ray Disc

Is there another version of event horizon on blu ray that is better? Im confused.

Thanks guys.

i believe there is only one version as well.
i know the one at stores now has new cover artwork, but i believe it is the exact same in terms of specifications. otherwise, i'd think that blu-ray.com here would've had a different / new review for this. and i think the cover would say like, "special edition" or something if it was any different.

Transformers 1 only has one version, Transformers 2 has a couple. The best one is the BIG SCREEN edition one at wallmart that has the IMAX scenes.

There is only 1 version of Event Horizon, all they did recently was change the cover art

Thanks. Wouldnt a Full screen version cut off some the original part of the movie?

Sorry everyone, Im on a purchasing spree, since I am planning on getting the new Panasonic 65" inch VT25 plasma sometime in June.

I would love to post some pics for you all regarding this if you guys want me to.

I would have to try and find the official thread topic about this VT25 plasma first though.

No.

If you get the Non Imax one, the whole movie would still be in widescreen.
That's how it was shot, except the IMAX scenes though.

No, not Full Screen....he said Big Screen (for the IMAX shots). It's the same thing that The Dark Knight BD did. The movie changes aspect ratios during the IMAX scenes. It goes from standard 2.4:1 to 1.78:1 whenever there's an IMAX shot. More detail in those shots. The Big Screen Edition is a Wal-Mart Exclusive. I have this one and it's great during those scenes. Kinda wish the whole movie was filmed like that. Same thing with the original movie too.

Are you sure? Why would they only change the art, make it WORSE, and then update the copyright date (says 2010 on the back)?

You must be confused. The IMAX scenes were included with every BD of The Dark Knight and still are regardless of where you purchase it. You may be thinking of Transformers 2 where the IMAX version was exclusive to Wal-Mart, not that anyone should want to purchase this one in this first place.

Good question. The same thing was recently done with Pale Rider on BD.

I just got my EH in the mail this morning. This version

If it's stretched it's only a small amount. Neptune looks round. Looks nice otherwise.
