Deadpool Origins?

After seeing Hulk VS. Wolverine, I thought Ryan Reynolds was a perfect fit for Deadpool. Plus, I love the characters that talk crap during a fight but are funny as well.

Hopefully they incorporate his comic book look with his face all looking like hamburger meat. His head got cut off it was able to be reattached but it's still rotting, lol.

I read the comic book character consented to experiments on him to cure the Cancer he had contracted. Maybe they'll explain that in the spin-off (?)

I haven't really ever been one for comic books, though I usually love the movies. Is there any great source for information on Deadpool?

Id love to see this movie, Deadpool was always one of my favorites. I like Ryan Reynolds also and I hope they keep his mouth open because he is hilarious.

I'm hoping for either an unrelated film that remains faithful to the character (if not the story) in the source material. They could also tell a good story with Wade during the time BEFORE Weapon XI was created, but then it would probably be disingenuous to call him Deadpool in it, or they'd try to come up with another BS reason to call him that. Why do they do that? Wolverine is called Wolverine because of his claws, you don't need to introduce a silly story to try to explain it beyond that. And Deadpool actually has a reasonable story for his name in the comics, if they didn't want to adapt that, they should have not even used the name in the film rather than trying to BS their way into a terrible reason to call him it when simply "Weapon XI" was a more accurate name anyway.

And no... in my experience, people are psyched about Ryan Reynolds in the part and actually enjoy him as Wade in the beginning of the film. It's the Weapon XI stuff at the end that everyone hates.

No matter how awesome people have told you Deadpool is, the reality is that he is at least 2x more awesome than even they've told you. Check out some comics some time if you don't believe me, or you can check out Hulk Vs. Wolverine that features the character relatively well.

Right, this is how he got the regenerative healing factor, which is his one super power. But apparently the healing interacted with the cancer and he became disfigured and it caused his insanity.

This will only be touched if they ignore the continuity established in this film. I just hope they don't do a direct sequel where he has adamantium blades in his hand and Cyclops optic blasts.

I really hope they dont f this up and have him become what they had in Wolverine. He doesnt have cyclops lasers, or swords in his arms. Although he could teleport so Im not sure why some people complain about that.

This could be one of my favorite comic movies.

As a kid, Deadpool was always one of my favorites and the only one whose comic books I collected (subsequently I think my mom tossed them all). Back then never did I think there would be a live action adaptation. Ryan Reynolds is also a great choice, I loved his one liners in Blade Trinity. I'll be in the theaters to see this one if it happens.

I think Ryan Reynolds is better then some people give him credit for. Good range in acting and a serious smart-ass. Still thinking of him in the fat suit singing in the "Just Friends" credits is one funny bit.

In addition to the announcement that a "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" sequel is in the works, 20th Century Fox has just revealed that a spin-off movie, focusing on Deadpool, is in development as well. Ryan Reynolds is attached to reprise the character.

Deadpool is Wade Wilson, a mercenary who, dying of cancer, submits himself to the Weapon X genetic alteration experiment and emerges as an indestructible semi-sane anti-hero. Reynolds seemed destined to play the character. In one reference in the Marvel Comics, Deadpool is described as a mix between "a Shar Pei and Ryan Reynolds."

In the new movie, it is understood that "the merc with a mouth" would once again regain the ability to mouth off, with the movie going back to the roots of the character known for his slapstick tone. The project is out to writers.

Fox considered a "Deadpool" spin-off early in "Wolverine's" development process, which is why it cast Reynolds. The actor was brought back in the month before the movie's release to shoot one of two "Easter egg" scenes that appeared after the end credits.
