As someone else already mentioned, the bookmark feature is sometimes supported to alleviate the BD-J issue. It should be one of the colored buttons (I think green is the one but I'm not sure if using green is standard or not).

Should he just press pause if he has a few hours between viewings? A few days?

If there's gonna be an interval of several hours or several days between starting a movie and finishing a movie, then i don't really see the big deal in manually finding where you left off. You've already taken yourself out of the movie's world for long enough that continuity is now a non factor. Would it be nice if you could stop the disc, turn off your player, and have it be right in the same spot for you when you were ready to resume? Sure would, but it's not keeping me up at nights and it's never affected my ability to enjoy my movies.
I dunno, if i'm gonna watch a movie, I always make sure that i'm in the mood for it and i have enough time set aside to finish it in one sitting. I don't just pop 'em in willy-nilly. Sure, things can always come up beyond your control that prevents you from finishing that night/day and you have to come back to it later, but when that happens to me i usually just start it over from the beginning, or if i wasn't into the movie that much, i'll just find the chapter i was on.

That works for you. Maybe not for others.

Sometimes I start a movie, then a baby wakes up crying, diapers need changing, wife needs loving, work needs to get done, something better comes up, bills need to get paid, hot chicks need full body cavity searches, etc.

I would love the "resume playback" deal, but I didn't have it on my last DVD player so I'm used to it. Does it keep me up at nights? No, that's ridiculous. But it doesn't seem like a difficult "feature" to have available, given all they can do with BDs these days.

Personally, I've always found that feature annoying, especially, if someone else started watching the movie before me.

Start main menu and let me choose where to start. But then again, everyone has their own preferences.

That's very true. They should be able to figure out how to git er dun with all the other fancy schmancy features they have and i never use. Although, i still think in all the scenarios you mentioned above, the pause button would suffice. Unless you're a stallion that can give sweet loving for days.

I know I am not. So I ask you kindly to find a new thread to spout your nonsense. It is getting really old and annoying. You seem to be looking for conflict (going by your past posts in other threads).
LOL Pot, kettle... how bout you follow your own advice?

I'm still looking forward to hearing some more people's take on Bug's Life and the ability of it to pick up where it left off.
