i haven't beaten it yet, when you playthrough again do you get to keep your items and/or unlocked weapons.

I couldn't agree more. At some points it was a little unbearable and was there for more dramatic effect than actual story.

Though if more games have 1/4 of the story telling MGS4 had, then I think we'll be in good shape.

Overall, though the cutscenes were a fine length.

I do believe I spent more time watching than playing though.

I think for those who found the cutsecenes too long and filled with needless information, have not played ALL 6 of the previous games in the story. There was something from every single one I believe that tied into this story in some way shape or form.

also, i thought the option of being able to run and gun was used to much.

Raiden was badly injured in his mission to get Sunny back from the patriots control, after such mission almost his entire body was destroyed. To live he had to be outfitted with the cybernetic ninja body. The only part of his body that was still Human was his head and upper torso, for the ending though the doctor that saved his live, Dr. Mandra I believe was his name, rebuilt him with a better artificial body, meaning that his new body at the end is a robot one with human looking skin. Notice when it does the close ups it has no pores like the other characters skins do.

Also, anyone think that Act 1 and Act 5 were the hardest?

I thought act 1 was easy, act 4 was the most dificult and the only act I died on, the killhouse once and the MGS1 segment twice, I hate those snatchers (3 armed balley things)

Yes, you need to load the saved game to do so.

Okay, I need somebody to explain a few things to me.

- big boss said at the end that the nanomachines inside snake's body were suppressing the foxdie from mutating, so how did he inhale the foxdie that killed him if it was being suppressed?

- If Ocelot was a member of the Patriots, why was it needed for him to act like Liquid in order to get into GW?

- Why did Ocelot need to hijack that SOP system in order to end the war. Why not just tell everybody what was going on and have them destroy it?

so why wouldn't the new foxdie kill others?
i think i might get this one, would the Patriots system not allow him to get close to Snake if they knew he was just Ocelot?
it was giong to have to get destroyed anyways??? so why so elaberate?
- Also, why would the Patriots allow Drebin to get so close and help out Snake?

Stealth is extremely critical in this game, have you tried actually fighting a Gekko with an Custom M4 or fight 100 of those little 3-legged ball guys at a time? It's extremely hard. MGS4 stuck to the stealth aspect a lot, it was critical.

Sounds like you (and those you're playing with) haven't played the game very long. If you don't hide you die more, if you die more you lose tickets or need to wait to respawn to help with a team game objective.

The online for this game was extremely disappointing. The registration process is a joke (why do we need two additional Konami names, why not just use PSN?) and the gameplay is pretty poor as well. The players are too slow to make an online multiplayer game with. Metal Gear is all about sneaking and that just doesn't happen in this online version.

If you want good online fun, get Warhawk or COD4.

theres one big diferance between this and all the other online games I've plkayed, teamwork, this has levels of teamwork I've never seen before in a online game

After you get tortured and you're in your cell.. he is the one guarding you. If you wait long enough, he will talk to you and tell you about his son in America. He says his name is Johnny and so is his sons, and every first born in the family.

Did they change the naming convention? My friend says he has a 6 character name without any symbols.. but when previously signing up I know I had to make my name .weapon.
