Time to bring this thread back to life...

I hate those stickers!

Just unpacked my "First Blood" Blu-ray, and sticker residue all over the sides dammit!

Next time, I will try it with a little knife first instead of using my nails...

who else needs about 10 empty Blu boxes ?

A few days ago i got Lord of war and Terminator 2 in from the jr.com sell. I knew it would be a pain to try and get the stickers off so i tried something new. I split the stickers down the middle. Then the sticker that was on the case itself was easy to lift up then really fast i pulled it off. It came off with no sticky stuff on the case AT ALL.

If someone has one they haven't opened yet, try it and see if it works.

Default Guys Heres How You Do It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its very easy to remove the sticky residue here's how:

Just take a big piece of the removed security sticker and gently put it over the sticky residue and lift off repeatedly till its all gone you can use scotch tape as well. I've been doing this for years, works like magic.

Been doing this for a while as well, however sometimes it doesn't quite work out on the Lionsgate ones. I don't know if they use different kind of glue or if the BDs are just stored too hot...
Anyways, the studios have to figure something else and should only (if even) use 1 of them! I don't feel like paying big bucks and then have to sit at home and try to make it look new... otherwise it looks like its used and kind of shabby!!!

Thats the original thread about the Security Sticker residue.

My advice is remove the disc and cover from the case, and use Goo-Gone on the case. Does wonders.
And you removed the disc and cover because you don't want Goo-Gone on that. Might ruin the cover and make a mess on the disc.

That is in fact the best technique for the removla of the glue residue from the security stickers. Good info for the new members, but for the rest of us. Anyways, I have seen worse threads

I'll give that a shot tomorrow to see how it goes. I still need to get the sticky residue off of several in my collection as well.

I've done that with a lot of things but it hasn't worked out well for me with the blu-ray covers. So much of it gets left on the cover and it sticks to the cover really well. It was taking so long just to get a little of it off the cover using that method that I gave up on it.
