I will guess the release time, see if am at all close. I say between 9:03am and 9:42am pacific time. LOL!

Roar, my uncle and aunt live close to where QT used to work at Video Archives in Manhattan Beach. They said they used to go in all the time in the late 80's/early 90's and he was always there watching movies, helping customers and writing (perhaps what became Reservoir Dogs?). They said he was obsessed with films but always quite nice and passionate about them (no surprise).

I'd say about five or six years ago I was down visiting, maybe it was longer, everything becomes a blur when you pass 40, and their neighbor knew QT quite well. She found out I was in the movie poster business and came over to my uncle's place when I was visiting and told me about how when Reservoir Dogs opened they had a big private party at the Video Archives store and had the actors and producers and basically people from the film. She went and they had the original movie posters there for a few people to have (and we know that no double-sided originals exist because Miramax only produced single-sided originals until 1995) and she had some. She came over with one and showed it to me and then showed me the ultra-rare Cannes Film Festival style poster that was signed to her from QT. She handed it to me and said she wanted me to have it but I simply could not accept it especially since it was personalized to her. She is a really kind lady, and told me she had more posters, next time I get down there I hope to see her and find out what she has available.

Great story Kinsella... QT is on my list of '5 people I'd like to have lunch with', I think he is a great director. He may be the only man on the list

I'll give it a shot for you today. I haven't had the thrill of the hunt lately.

That QT piece is nice, though I will have to pass. It's been nice not buying a poster every week

However, tomorrow is going to be a different story. Mark Englert is dropping all his prints at once on his website. The Back to the Future prints, Lucky Star Variant, Pollos and some Dr. Who prints.

I believe each print is $50 plus $30 if you'd like a sketch included. I may have to go for a BTTF Variant since I missed out on Mondos drop.

Yeah I bet he would be a cool guy to hang out with. I heard when he was here years ago for some event, he went to a video store called Scarecrow Video that is quite popular. It basically has everything including very hard to find imports, obscure films, etc. I believe Roger Ebert once said it was the greatest video store in the world. Someone once told me that when QT was in town he walked from downtown Seattle where he was staying to the video store which isn't that far but still, far enough that most people drive, not walk. They said he spent a lot of time looking at everything and bought some stuff, said he was really cool and loved their store.

Mondo just dropped!

EDIT: Well those went fast. Under a minute for a complete sell out?

Took just under 60 seconds to sell out, dropped at 8:57am and by 8:58am they were gone. And my guess was off by six minutes.

Failed. Had it in my cart and was already logged in, but it removed it as I was checking out.

Hopefully grooveska was lucky enough to snag one. These honestly went faster than I thought they would. Then again, I don't know why I thought that.

EDIT: Didn't read this page before posting!

I guess my order went through, I got the hourglass for some time but got confirmation that my order went through.

Oddly enough is eBay. I have this strange feeling these prints are being pulled off eBay. Reason being is I saw about 40 of them offered and now I can't find any of them either current or completed. Either eBay is messed up today with their search process or the rights holder to this print is having the auctions pulled from the site. In the case of this print, I don't know who owns the rights to it, it could be Mondo or it could be the company that distributed the DVD set perhaps they commissioned this piece to be done through Mondo but retain the rights, and maybe they don't want people reselling them on eBay. I could be way off, maybe it's just eBay's site is messed up, but I have tired searching and as of right now I only see two current auctions and none completed.

Thoughts anyone?

EDIT: It must be an eBay glitch because now there are 43 up on there. I know eBay has had issues in the past, but this was just odd that they were appearing on the site and then not, and then back again.

Yeah, I think they're having some glitches with the new formatting that they rolled out this week.

I've been noticing this as well...

This week just keeps getting better.

Looks like I'm going to skip out on Mark Englert's drops tomorrow. I entered LimitedPapers giveaway so hopefully I'm lucky If anyone else wants to enter you can HERE Contest closes tomorrow at 10AM Central time.

Mondo is going to be having a Black Friday sale. Vol. 2 of their book will be on sale (if anyone has Vol. 1 and wants to part with it let me know!) as well as some surprise poster drops. I'm going to guess a Whalen Looney Tunes print and perhaps something Lord of the Rings related?

I'm hopefully going to get a Mark Englert BTTF poster tomorrow from his site. Has he done this before? Is it as insane as Mondo drops?

His drops are different than mondo's where if you get it in your cart it's yours... But the difference here is a little paitence can pay off as those who get it in their cart and have second thoughts will have their copy eventually time out releasing it back to the public... So don't give up! I was able to land his 'This is my farm' print like 10 minutes after drop I believe.

Credit to Kinsella for telling us to keep trying as he knew this was how it worked.

Yeah he is a really nice guy that Kinsella is. LOL! Mark's drops are much less stressful than a Mondo one, so for those who want one, be patient during that one hour window and then simply add to your cart. Mark has really made a name for himself, happy for his success.

Totally unrelated, but is anyone planning on buying the new Nook HD/Nook HD+ for themselves or as a gift from a local Staples office supply store? If so, I just got emailed a special coupon from them for $25 off TODAY ONLY (Wednesday) and in-store, not online. Since these are brand new to the market, there really aren't any deals on them, so this $25 off coupon was a surprise. So contact me if you need a coupon and include your email address.

I'm going for a BTTF print as well to go near my Thing print.

Good luck everyone, and good luck with Mondo, Posters and Toys, Spoke Art, or any other drops you're going for on Friday!

Any Andy Kehoe fans (a Pittsburgh native), he is putting up some giclees on Friday as well... including his really cool mash-up print Days of Cider (Days of Heaven and Fantastic Mr. Fox), more details:

Congrats to whomever it was that won a Mark Englert AP from Limited Paper, and good luck to everyone trying to score one today!

I wouldn't mind a BTTF AP, though I would much rather hold out til Mondos drops on Friday. If I bought a BTTF and Mondo dropped something I wanted MORE, I would not be too happy

As the rules go:
1) You cannot have every poster.
2) You do not need every poster.
3) There is always another poster.

I need to have these tattooed

This is one of the handful of times I've actually been in front of a computer for a drop... Hoping to score a BTTF one!
