Well, I'm about 20 minutes into the movie, they're just about to leave for the island. I'm already liking this far more than I thought I would. I love that it's set in '73. A fun time, and it means an awesome soundtrack.

About 40 minutes left. I think this is basically like Jurassic World for me: a film I didn't expect to like at all, and ended up really enjoying. Really strong cast, great visuals, lots of comedy -- fun movie. John C. Reilly's hilarious.

Now just have to see how this third act plays out.

Damn, Brie is gorgeous in this. Very sexy.

And her reactions to stuff are great. Of course, no surprise since she's an excellent actress. Now, if only Hiddleston were Loki instead of Conrad, they could have dealt with all this in like 2 minutes.

What a fun movie. I loved the cast, there was a lot of fun action, but also a lot of good dialogue, absolutely loved the visuals and direction, and there were just a bunch of fun and interesting elements.

I had a total blast.

I really, really liked Kong as well. I didn't expect much, but I started liking it immediately. Best setup for a "mission" type of beginning in a movie I've seen in a while, and it only gets better. Brie, Tom and John were very well cast.

The movie itself is only so-so, but Brie easily steals every scene she's in.
