When all the movies are completed I think I'd prefer two separate trilogy sets to be honest. I'm thinking more along these lines:

JP trilogy = Lord of the Rings trilogy / original Star Wars trilogy
JW trilogy = The Hobbit trilogy / prequel Star Wars trilogy

^ That is the official approach as well. What I said is how this quadrilogy set can be looked at as. It's purely my opinion.

Jurassic World does. It's self-referential in the cringiest kind of way. The dinos are not animals anymore, the threats are tamed and those that aren't do ridiculous stuff like that forced team up at the end.

Jurassic Park III is quite the opposite, fortunately.

If any of you are JP nuts, you may want to look at the Dinosaur Protection Group stuff (The group that mounts the rescue op that is the plot backbone of the next film.) that has been put on the web recently. They are starting to give links between 2-3 and the plot-line of JW, with the premise that rogue elements within InGen and it's successor were involved in weaponizing dinos and creating hybrids on Isla Sorna between JP2 and JW. It's also been stated that third-parties have been raiding Isla Nublar and Sorna for some time, stealing cloning tech, information, and dinos for the purpose of weaponizing. The Mososaurus from JW appears to have been "removed" from the island or somehow escaped from it's lagoon.

Jurassic World released on June 12, 2015.

And then, Universal Studio released this (which is the same exact packaging with Jurassic World BD included):

They're probably going to do the same exact thing with the 4K release, since Jurassic World 2 comes out this summer.
This is my hope as well. However, it is hard to tell if there will be enough pages/slots for 2 extra discs from this pic:

Hopefully we'll get a press release soon to clarify.

Although I'm vey happy to get these movies now in 4k the timing is very odd. It would be better imo if they had a 5 movie boxed set with an open slot when Fallen Kingdom gets released on home media. A small nitpick as I'm buying this boxed set day one regardless.

I'm a bit slow to catch up. Is the Bluray that comes in this set this brand new scan/remaster? or the same transfer that came out a few years ago?

I'm sure it'll include a slot for the new one. But between 2D and 3D and 4K who knows if they'll include enough slots. I have to keep the World bonus DVD in a separate envelope within the case in my Jurassic Park Collection set.

This is, what, the 5th time I've bought Jurassic Park? And I'm barely in my 30s.

Let's see - I bought the DVD adventure pack, then I bought the stand alone DTS edition, then the bluray in 2011, then the 3D in 2014, then the round tin in 2016 when World came out, and now the 4K in two months.

SIX. Six. Well. Top 10 movie, it definitely merits it.

Very little info on this set yet but wouldn’t put it past them including the same old BDs, they surely have enough stock of them out there.

Agreed. The second one is the cinematic equivalent of a child opening his mouth to show you his chewed food.

I know. It was a joke.

By the way, I prefer JP3 over 2. It's a simpler adventure; has the best raptors in the franchise; an emotional family bonding story and of course Alan Grant returns.

I dislike all cardboard sleeves. Too much potential for scratched discs.

There hasn't been an official announcement for it, but 99% certain that it is the same transfer, or more like the same discs that they're recycling. Same disc art = same old transfer. They did it for The Mummy Trilogy. Don't really see a reason why they wouldn't do the same here.
